In my opinion the game should have MORE variables. No way anyone should conquer this game by being a better mathematician than someone else. I looked on a womans profile one day, I wish I remembered her name, she shot 15 rounds at merion in a row, scores ranged from 26 to 27...that's freakin impossible!!!!

Actually, as of late my meter has been incredible, I've even backed off the to level 33 cally not needing the big $$ nike meter speed and I've worked harder figuring out the wind on shots and putts via lots of practice rounds (yeah, very lonely I know) and have gotten a lot more chances at birdie.

I don't want anyone waving a magic wand at this game to shoot in the low 50's, when the thrill is gone people will look at other venues for enjoyment.

The woman you speak of enjoys doing what she does. A few months ago, you would have seen BP F9 as the only rounds. What others do should be of no concern to anyone here, unless it affects them somehow. Her rounds are not affecting anyone. Also, if she did play in normal conditions, she might shoot close to that score (Merion B9 is par 34). She is no slouch at all. And, she has a pretty cat.

No disrespect to her at all, I was just using her scores as an example. I'm saying there should be enough variables between each round that the scores should vary some, maybe  from 25 to 29,  as in the course plays much harder/easier one round than it did in previous rounds and the scores should reflect that. A 20 mph wind should vary between 16 and 24 as it does in real life conditions....it should never be absolute. No way should we be able to plug a number in and if we ding it it's stiff.

I had a 20yd put. The dots was not moving at all. the wind was 1-5 directly towards me. I hit the ball with a ping and still I was off by 7in and it went 1 ft beyond (what I like)

Many users say it is by the feel but this is a computer game so something is wrong in the calculation. Or is the precision of the club/ball in affect even if it is a ping?

    Cheers!

    WGTicon:

    GirnBlanston:

I am aware of the enormous amount of complaints regarding the change in math on putting dots.  In addition I have noticed the winds are much stronger than before.  Instaed of complaining about it, is there a post with revised putting instructions or are we on our own to figure it out and get so frustrated that we seek out a better game to play.  I could use some help here,

    hi

there were never any instructions. it's always been by feel. we are still looking at dots. it was not our intention to mess with them.

fix the dots!! You can't judge break if dots constantly change speed. (no Courtney its not my computer)!

BENDING OVER LAUGHING---I think it is histerically funny these subtle little changes are driving these "mathamatical whiz-bangs" crazy trying (with their little slide rulers and charts) to figure out how much a 3 foot level lie putt is ging to break.  I don't feel sorry for them one bit, throw away all of your little math toys and go back to playing the game by feel and logic like the real game is played and you wll find out once again this game is stll only a game and is still  a lot of fun to play...cheers.
