Would love to know why this didnt go it, i was certain i had given it plenty, the ball looks like it has definitly made it past the lip of the hole, but still no drop.

I'm not sure exactly what your saying ScottHope, I presume what your trying to illustrate with your graphic is that my ball didn't travel the required distance to reach the hole - and i totally see where your coming from.

Now I have hit a lot of putts here on wgt and i rarely leave one short. The green speeds were "very fast" so with this green speed and short distance I usually add a foot so on this occassion I hit 7.2 on my meter, I know there can be issues that can make a ball stop short, ie a hump between ball and hole - but that just isn.t the case here.

Also the graphic clearly shows that my ball passed the lip of the hole.

I know your going to say that this is jst an error, a glitch in the graphics, right ??

Well perhaps the graphic and my instincts are right and the ball did travel the rqd distance but it was the an error in the game code that interpreted it as a short shot.

........ okay i know that im making a mountain out of a molehill but its the little things that drive you crazy  lol

I know how frustrating it is to not get the desired result to a shot when we are sure we have done everything correctly, but as you know, we often see a ball hit the edge of a fairway after a drive for example, and the lie icon indicates that it is rough and vice versa, so the graphics and the game code don't always match up.

Here's the OP's ball, at rest. x3 zoominosityness. You can see the bottom of the ball is still on the grass. So am I when I invent words.

It's a visual thing, the black ball meeting blackness of the hole  makes it look like it's dropped in the replay.

You can still see the bottom of the ball below the near lip in the graphic, so it is clearly showing that the ball did not reach. I'm guessing this is one of those putts said 0 for elevation, whereas it is uphill, and probably even closer to 2 inches up than 1. You have to use your eyes and knowledge of the greens sometimes and ignore the elevation WGT gives you when it is obviously wrong.

    Been there, done that:
(it's the very position that you had)

It shows +0 in slope, but two ft further out it's +2. I remember that it plays "severely up" all the time from this false front, so 7.2 just wasn't enough.

Under my tin foil hat I have the idea that there is "something" which holds up those "just in" attempts, and many successful players have stated their preference for harder putts. If you hit the center, +3 ft power will always go in!

Going slightly off topic, don't you think the ball shadow is just a bit too big?  No wonder the ball won't drop if its shadow gets stuck in the hole first, lol.

OK - I took a snap of this myself. It shows the ball has passed the lip of the hole, I wouldnt be bothered with this post at all if this wasnt the case. I understand the desire by many to jump to wgt,s defence but im only trying to point out bugs to help improve the game for all.

So either the graphic is wrong or the code is wrong, my instinct tells me that i hit plenty, despite many that say there was an uphill.

the graphic agrees with me, it shows the ball over the lip, hovering in fresh air over the hole, but it didnt drop ??

Even if 80, or 90 % of the ball passed the lip you would expect it to drop, but all of the ball has passed the lip. - call the cops someone please               (rant over)

OK, I see that since i posted the above pic showing the ball clearly over the edge of the hole all previous commenters have remained silent - that's unusual, judging by the amount of posts you guys have clocked up is not like ye to be silent, maybe i shouldn't have said rant over
