myoosik5081: Just wondering how long from identifying a course to it is ready to play takes you guys on average...
The US Open courses are identified years in advance. I do have the dates from when they shoot photos of the course to when they release a full 18 hole course to players. Lately that interval has been running 8 to 12 months. From Olympic thru Bandon Dunes. Realistically I'd add 3 or 4 months of planning and preparation to that. Photographers have to be hired in advance, pre-meetings held with the course pro and superintendent, etc.
After the photoshoot, which depends on weather a lot and can take a week at best or more, photos need to be photoshopped, color matched, and GPS data loaded into game files. And then tested. They first release a CTTH front 9 one month, next month the CTTH back 9, then finally the 18 hole full version.
