Most of the "Top TLs" are at least 20 levels ahead of me and have literally the best everything that is available so I dont gain much from that.  I even go as far to check for people ahead of me in the standings for RG tournies for people close to or below my level 89 to see what they use but it rarely happens.  When it does its like a level 50 playing from super close tees.  That is not meant to sound cocky because Im not, just that everyone that beats me does so with better equipment.  Equipment that I am now seeking advice on.

I know my computer sucks but I don't need guidance on that unless you want to help me purchase a new one :)  Im so used to this tiny screen and touchpad mouse now that using a regular wired mouse screws me all up

OK buddy, u want the truth , then the fact is if u can't hit the ding on ur wonderful $25 pos computer then stay away from expensive balls.

Take it or leave it , good advice from someone that knows.

A 27 at RSG with a pink WGT B-XD proves my point.

    10 credits a sleeve

I got to legend playing mostly with WGT G12-S balls at 64 a sleeve, cos I couldn't afford the callaways.

Not going through the RGs like you checking recently, but in Legend tier L90 sees any last dying ember of an argument on equipment finished, IMO.

Not sure why this is getting agitating for you.  I came here asking for help/advice on equipment and Ive gotten 3-4 tips on how to improve my computer that isn't broken and told to "See what everyone else has".  From all this I have gathered "Just dont bother upgrading".

I was hoping for a productive discussion and maybe a joke or two but this is clearly not going the way I had intended.  Not sure if I'm allowed to request this or not but to any forum admin that reads this I'd be ok if you deleted this thread.  I will have to find my answers elsewhere.

    xtabent:

Go onto the top TL's profile pages  and see what they use.

That doesnt work because it wont make you play like them . The O/P has to put their time in and learn their clubs . They already have a good set up . When I had the R11s all I needed was the 33+ Cally ball to manage them . Its all about taking the time to learn your clubs and how to use them .

Practice , practice , and more practice . Learn ball placement , shot selection , course management and most importantly work on your putting . The R11s are good clubs but they are only as good as the player thats using them . I gave them up for the 97+ Nike irons for a slower meter .

As for the top T/L profiles , some are bogus profiles created by WGT to promote sales and generate revenue . Others are actual WGT under cover employees with modified accounts , they dont get the same level of deviation which allows them to shoot those ridiculous low 50 scores . This is also done to generate revenue through the sales of credits and promote tournament play . It also keeps WGT from having to pay out those high credit purses to players .

So be careful when looking at other players profiles because they can be very misleading . If you do upgrade your irons then take a couple of weeks and just play practice rounds with them . Learn your clubs . Learn the pitch , punch and flop shots . Work on your approach shots getting closer to the pin . And most importantly get your putting down because thats how you win . Hope this helps you out . Good luck with your game . :-)

Six words that provide more than any combination of exotic clubs and balls. It is the key.

Amen to that Lonnie.  Most people forget that in an 18 hole round, if you shoot par of 72, ONE HALF of all your shots will be made with your putter.  Here ends the lesson.

                                                     Got any proof of this?

Thought not, back to the psyche ward for you ...

Sorry, you've come to the wrong place!!

I'd be tempted to stick with the L85 irons and wait and see what Taylormade irons replace the L90 R11s this year, as the new stock has already started to be rolled out this month. You may well get some R11 replacement irons with the same specs but half a dot slower meter.

The R11 irons were a big step up from the Pings, but were only half a dot faster than the Cleve wedges, R11s driver and R11s 3wd that were the best when the irons came out. Now the best non-irons all have meter speeds that match your L85 irons, which is a full dot of difference from the R11 irons. This might be quite a difficult change of rhythm to get bedded in.
