    Angeltotti20:

Ok, i want to play with you :), need to learn how to putt!

Doesn't look like you need to learn anything. You've become the greatest player WGT has ever seen with mediocre clubs.

Your substandard/cheap driver won't get you half way across most courses even with a good tailwind but you're shooting in the 50's? When you can sink em on the approach like you, why putt?

In an 18 holes, how many eagles do you plop in? I'm guessing 2 minimum per game?

Just don't make the mistake of selling back your old putter if you do purchase a more expensive putter of any kind.

I was actually planning to keep the Spider just in case the new one didn't work out so you read my mind there JustJimmy. The biggest problem I have with my putting is'nt hitting the ding line but reading the breaks on the greens. Usually when I miss a putt its only just outside either side of the hole. I just thought that maybe it wasn't me misreading lines but the precision of the putter being low causing it to just miss.

If you don't already have it, say so, and I'll buy it for ya.

I'm bored and have 90k credits just sitting around!

You're reading the lines of a dyed in the wool poop to a blanket diehard beginner putter user.I tried all of the others with all the fancy desciptions and found the spider to be as much use as Bono is to world peace. My one resides on Oakie #9,and the rabbit whose rectum now houses it,is none too pleased.

The daytona,AT FIRST was unimpressive, too fast, and annoyed me no end.

Then I settled and pretended it was an ok putter. And it started to sink putts where I missed the ding, misread the lie, applied too much power, and went to make coffee during the putt.I am forced to conclude therefore, that the Daytona does indeed have some redeeming features and appears to be a better buy than all the other shiney trinkets available.

My reservations are:Very fast meter(For me).The need to check which of the scales you are on(i.e 15/30 etc) and the grip which is not colour co-ordinated with my nails. This Has to be sorted WGT.you have NO idea how that can put one off.

Ultimately, since putting is pretty much germaine in moving from one hole to the next,it is good to have a weapon  capable of subduing your worstest enemy. To subdue Rabbits,I suggest The Spider.

I have played both, the Daytona to me is the far better putter, but I would say preference says a lot. If the speed of the meter is to tough try a ball with more feel dots like the G13 D &S balls.

I used to have a daytona, but upgraded to the half a notch more precise redwood, putts i'd miss with rim kisses would go in with redwood..As long as you get used to the meter speed, but as for the spider, throw it in the scrap yard and get daytona, and when you are high enough level upgrade again...Why the issue anyway..upgrading clubs wil always improve your game.

I hired this Daytona last week.

The meter stuttered all the time with me. (my other clubs were fine)

If i thought this was just a one off occurence, i would have considered buying it, but receiving no reply from WGT to my emails, i will leave it for now.

On longer putts it certainly seemed more accurate with regard to  distance.

This is where the beginner putter falls down, on putts of say, 60ft plus, it has a mind of its own.

After reading the reviews in the Proshop about this putter, I am unsure about buying it. There are only a few reviews there and I thought if I posted a thread about it I might get some more feed back about it before I bought it. A couple of the posts say that its really only effective on very fast greens and above. This wouldn't bother me to much as I am at master level so most of the games I play would be on very fast greens anyway. Basically I am looking for advice from people that are using or have used this putter. I am using the Spider putter at the moment and I am relatively happy with it. The attraction for the new putter is the smaller incriments and the extra precision. Is it more precise? If I miss the sweet spot will it go all over the place? Those are the questions I need answers to.

    Thanks In Advance.

Thanks for posting this Jo, after giving up on my redwood, I was in need for a new putter.  So I bought the ping iwi answer and I love it.  I was thinking that the daytonna might be alot like it and maybe I would give it a try.  I was about to post a forum when I saw this. So has anyone had both the answer and daytonna? If so what's the difference?

PS: Jo you might want to give the answer a try.

I have the Anser, Daytona and did use the Redwood ZB master  putter for a few days before throwing it away.

Daytona is now my preferred putter but the Answer is very good.

Only real difference between them is the Answer does not have a 90' scale and is slightly faster

And of course, The price difference!

Unfortunately, more expensive putters still do not read the breaks for you!
