Good match played pretty well on both where we alternated the lead.

Two great bunker shots by Phil approaching to 1YD and some considerable distance putt made the match very interesting.

In the end I win 2UP ............... thanks Phil for good company.

Thanks Corwyn. Ab certainly is a very good putter. He started very well. 25 ft par on 1,birdie on 2 & gr8 up from bunker at 4.That was after he made a 42 ft at #2 when we started SP game by mistake!

Turning point was #5 where we both found the front bunker and Ab with a terrible dh lie took 2 to get out. I played more controlled after that.

PS: Reaching the 14th fw effectively won me the hole.Be interesting in alt shots

Yes, the 14th was interesting in alt shot. Did you see the match report of Ab and DaveD's adventures in the quicksand? Lou saved us with a fantastic tee shot there.

@Carlo: thanks for the report, and congrats on the win. Commiserations to phil, but bravo for becoming our first player to complete all your matches!

@Mati: thanks for the news on your singles with Wes. I've added it to the Overview tab.

Looks like we only have 4 matches left to be scheduled/confirmed.

    ---------------------------------------------

Current state of play in the event:

    Team USA 2  |  Team ROW  5

Team ROW have gotten away to an early lead... With at least 3 matches to come this weekend, let's see if USA can manage a comeback!

Joe and I played this morning, not scheduled, we were on at the same time. Not prepared, we played. Joe had the day today and played just right. I couldn't find the dinger at all. I still have issues on greens either with my regular gears or the starters. Joe won 4&3.

Playing with almost no game at all all week long was not the best idea I got but I can't play this week end, neither in week days. We already can't find out a time to play the fourball, so I just wanted it done. Not the best way to start a match but well...at least nobody will wait for it!

Good game Joe, very well played!

    Fred

    Thanks Fred!

Fred was kicked out after hole 12 so we had to restart the game from hole 10. here the scoredcard (from Twitch before the disconnection because I've forgotten to make a screenshot):

You can find the Twitch archives here:

    Part 1: http://www.twitch.tv/wgtjoemaverick/b/661952012

    Part 2: http://www.twitch.tv/wgtjoemaverick/b/661964256

I suggest to watch the part 1 at round 24 min. I've made one of the shots of the competition, maybe the THE SHOT (Corwyn can confirm, he has seen it in live) :D

I've really enjoyed to play that game. Thanks Fred for the game and thanks Corwyn for the competition :)

Yes, I can confirm that Joe's approach to #5 was one of those great, perfect moments when you just know a shot is going to be good from the moment it sets off, especially satisfying with starters and knowing it's going to take some roll like any well thought out links shot.

A real beauty, deserving of eagle really.

Congrats Joe on a great result!

Joe's win takes the overall score to:

    Team USA  2  |  Team ROW  6

A healthy early lead for ROW, but don't forget two of USA's UEL and TIO stalwarts, captain Russ and Bethpage TIO winner Ben, have yet to play any matches.

    Single session, Daskino vs papagrasutu

I had great time playing with Paul in our single match. Almost two hours (with some issues at the beginning of the match, 'cos I forgot to switch my irons and then I had a huge flash crash) of great fun, laughs and some very nice shot (Paul deserved to drop his teeshot at #15, best shot in the whole match).

We supported each other til the 18 and I have to say I'm always happy to be involved in this kind of event, especially when I find someone like Paul (sorry bud, I think you were late with your family party).

ROW 2 UP at the end, but final score is really a minor detail.

Lou, I enjoyed our match as well!  Without the people, WGT is just another computer game, right?  I had a chance, being down 1 at that crazy par 5 18th, but Lou hit a perfect winner, to within a yard, in the middle of that "toilet bowl" for the clear winner...well done, Lou!  and like I said, let's play a match with our real clubs some time, all the best, Paul
