  What an empty, uninteresting course that is..Playing it is as painful as i imagine waterboarding must be..

  Another one is Kiawah - Even the trees look clinically depressed..

  And in third place Olympic - Obviously designed by someone on hallucinogenic drugs...

  Wow Pinehurst is one of the more interesting Donald Ross designs and a real challenge to play, especially in real golf.      Kiawah is a true Ocean course resting right on the beach and the trees are wind blown due to the constant winds.

  If you want depressing take a look at St Andrews, no trees boring wide open fairways and big fairly flat greens.   Having played (in real golf) St Andrews, Pinehurst and Kiawah you can keep St Andres and give me the other two.

  Whilst I have not played Pinehurst, I have played the other two. St Andys did send shivers down my spine the first time I played there - purely on the historical aspect.

  Good course but certainly not all that appealing to the eye yet interesting as are the nature of links courses.

  The Ocean Course was quite new when I played it and I thought it would mature into a great course - and like Andys and every single course I have played, there is always something that takes your eye.

  One reason I like playing those 2 courses are I get flashbacks to playing them, seeing something different every time, especially when the camera zooms out.

  Maybe the OP can only see what is in front of his nose, and no further. Every course is unique and beauty is deeper than the picture you see.

  Looking at his score history, the only times in the past 6 months or so he has even played Pinehurst in any format was blitz only.
