Been away from competing for some time...play a few practice holes almost every day....just noticed something ...and perhaps it's my imagination....but as I play with my Nile L78 balls..they seem to be "living" a lot less than I recall before! I do not take mulligans ..nor do I take "gimmes" which I understand counts as "double" hits....but the life of a ball sure appears to not last as long as it did previously!     If it's a "marketing" thing.....so be it!!!!!!!   In which case..when my supply is depleted....I retire from the 'TOUR!!"

I've not noticed any difference with the level 71's.

The ball life has dropped to almost half of what it was, not only that even if you have several balls in your bag, the little advertisement pops up saying " This is your last ball of this type, click to purchase now" pops up trying to sucker you into buying even more balls!!, but I'm sure there is an explanation!!!

No. The life of balls has never changed on any ball. Not since I've been here anyway.

I haven't done any tests to prove or disprove this, but the feeling in my gut tells me something is different.

The next new ball I start, I will log each hit.

Thanks, Scott. I haven't notice anything yet but a few numbers have been suggesting that the ball life on their equipment has been changed. Since the word from wgt is that nothing has been changed then it might be a 'bug' that should be reported.

I'd ask anyone who is certain that there balls are wearing out faster post their observations in the thread.

I just tested the L81 Nike, got 117 hits.  I believe the standard for any 2.5 durability ball is 120.  It's possible I missed counting a hit or two, but am certain I didn't over-count, so my conclusion is that nothing has changed as far as ball durability.

Will wait to see if anybody comes up with different numbers.

Did I miss that?  Where did WGT say that?
