Not certain about the number of rounds, having done hundreds to get a few decent ones but the change average is definitely 59.00, as I found out yesterday

Congrats, Ian, and thank you for the confirmation!

We were told that it's 200 to reach saturation as a C - good luck, and have fun!!

For me it went like this.

After champ tier came into being my average went up to 63.40 before it started to drop again.

After 200 rounds it was 58.83....still a TL no change.

About 50 rounds later I hit hit 58.40 exactly 5 points lower than my highest TL average and the change happened for me.

So they took away your best (300?) rounds and recalculated the average.

I assume that there were "about 50" Par3 and Par5 rounds included, thus your promotion was held off until the "true 200" rounds counting were filled.

First thing you do is take away the idiotic equipment specs that Champs are able to use.

In other words when you hit Champion Tier.

    1) Your clubs lose all forgiveness.

    2) You lose the ability to use the chip / pitch grid view on the green. The aiming line is gone when putting, you just see the arrowhead.

    3) Champs use a special ball which is neutral, as in 3.0 3.0 3.0 3.0 / 3.5 2.5 3.0 3.0 That's it. The extra spin ball loses a bit of distance as it should. As a bonus for reaching Champ these balls have 3.0 wear limit. You can't buy any other ball - and they come in Nike green as well because they do still market them.

    4) The ding line should vanish as soon as you let go of the mouse button on all shots, so you spot it, watch and then draw your club back, release and the line disappears and it's up to you to 'focus' and try and hit the perfect ball strike. Still chimes if you hit it.

Come on man, you're Champs after all!  If you don't want to have to play harder, concentrate then stay a TL, simple.

    pdb1:

This really was a big brain fart for WGT . To not have even a little foresight into what they were creating .

Instead of creating an elite tier for the  gifted and talented group of veterans . That had put in the years . Done all the studying , calculating , trials and errors Played the thousands of rounds from the back tees . Maintained the low averages for hundreds and thousands of rounds . A hard earned a well deserved plateau for them to cool their heels and sit back for a while and take a deep breath and enjoy the small numbers of others  that had also managed that elite pedestal .

Maybe so, however the biggest brain fart was allowing red tee CC rounds to be ranked and go against one's "average".

There are Champions right now that started WGT in the mid year this year 2015 . And had never even heard of WGT 8 months ago . I just lost such a member . There are others .

You still need to play about 1000 rounds  (not counting acceleration from Match Play or Tournament wins) to reach Champ.  And if someone has the time to spend playing 10 rounds per day unlimited red tee CC tournaments that's roughly 3 months.  So the amount of time on site is not important, its the number of RRs.  Your guy you lost. "ScoobyDoo", made Champ when he binged on one of your CC unlimited red tee tourneys.  His bed, he sleeps in it, and struggles from Champ tees.  Guys just play the system given them.
