    Solarflares:
To utilise minimal off-ding on a moderate side-slope - come down to 8.5ft   and the spin on the ball will hold it up slightly and also give it control as the speed dies away close to the hole. Also a spinning-ball minimises lip-out.                   (If the ball is simply rolling , then a lip-out will make it accelerate slightly and go past the hole. With an off-ding spinner , once some friction is removed from one side of the ball - the spin sends it that way-into the cup more than not).

Spin on a putt?  What makes you say that?  I wouldn't think it possible as putters have no spin parameter.

I think he's thinking spin like on a cue ball where you hit it off center and create the English.

OK, I get that but we'd need to move the spin dot on the ball left and right then. To fade and draw the ball.  But that's not implemented here.  How does missing the ding generate any spin?

Not sure it does, just trying to understand how the guy is thinking. We can draw and fade shots (sort of) and that happens because of the spin an off center hit imparts on the ball. Maybe he's thinking putts do the same thing.

    Solarflares:

    Ok guys.

The effect is a pronounced  "Friction-force reversal".

The off-ding angles the putter - but for off-ding putters -we are still standing and aiming square at the hole - and the important thing is that we are still swinging through the shot in direct-line to the hole.

The effect this will have on a left-side off-ding  is to produce more friction at contact on the right side of the dimpled-ball.   This will make the ball rotate anti-clockwise ( seen from directly above) as it rolls up the slope - this will help to minimise direction change at the break-point.

Hmmm....a lot of theory and no evidence.  In theory, if the ball is spinning how does it counter act the break?  You didn't expain how, only that it helps.

    RickRR:
Lately I have ran into some difficulty with putting. I think I have my putt lined up correctly, then take the shot. My ball does one of three things.

Things have definitely changed - for sure. Putting is not as easy as it use to be. Actually - it sucks. Its is the absolute worse part of this game right now. It is getting to the point that I am truly starting to loose complete interest in the game. I have ALWAYS found the game fun to play but since the putting has gone haywire the game is nothing but frustrating.

I can see missing putts but when you miss a putt and it continues to roll pass the hole to a point of being punished for missing the putt NOW the game becomes frustrating and not FUN to play.

I have played the game long enough with my fair share of rr's to know the putting standards have changed dramatically. This goes without mentioning all the other features of the game that are loaded with bugs and glitches.

Ive stated right along, the programming  / IT personal employed at WGT are low rate techs,,period. They have tried to clean things up for years only to make this game the most glitchy, bug invested, inconsistent, unpredictable, money grabbing computer game on the market.
