    AndreasHelke:

The other players in the round should have the option to set the disconnection counter back to zero. The lack of this obvious and badly needed feature is really annoying.

    +1

yes, this is the way to deal with it.

give the option to the other player(s) in the group

    Sir,

Your rant here in response to others is egotistical.  And deserves to be challenged as such from those less worthy in the $$ department than you.

For a global game such as this to be effective, it needs to be accessible to every member equally, and within the credit structures each player has.  To limit or restrict certain aspects, or insert tools some don't want by default, is secular.

That is not a good business model, and it has, as you note, many detriments for those who use other system formats and browsers.

WGT seems to cater to those that pay up the big bucks to play here rather than make it an even field.

Sure, some users have their individual connection issues from time to time, but the preponderance of those from my view are WGT matters, and the players I play concur.

I think the WGT folks are putting the cart before the horse almost every time they do any updates, then have to sweep up the crap after, and don't learn what is in the crap.

The moving green grid with the putter is a long-time coming.  I've been lining up my putts with wedges for 8 years.  Gonna be hard to break that habit.

Your profile shows you joined in August 2010, either my maths isn't very good or I've missed something?

Hey, nice to meet you, congrats on reaching Champion tier.

Assuming my career was consistent of only one account then you would be correct.  However, I've had an account before this one, won my fair share and shut it down (as in closed it.  Even I can't login to it anymore.)  I was a grinder then, playing 40-50 rounds or more a week.  I eventually burned out.  Not because of anything WGT did.  They've always done a bang-up job.  I just got bored with it one day.  Funny how that happens.

I then disappeared for about a year or so.  Eventually I found my way back and restarted with a brand new account (this one).  I've actually been here since before stroke play or clubs other than WGT Starters existed.  Back when it just the Bali Hai 9-hole skills challenge.  I've seen the whole history of this game, save for that one year in the middle.  And while I'm happy to see the game itself has evolved greatly in that time, the forum has not.

I see these complaints about disconnections and I'm thinking, "Hey at least you guys have a lobby to go back to.  We didn't have a lobby.  If one person disconnected once you were done.  Fancy a restart mate?"  So color me limited with patience given the options folks have available to them now.

Then they come to the forum and complain, but not in a proper way, because that is too difficult.  Instead you just end up with drivel that bolsters the complainers and suddenly everyone's living in this world with a completely warped perspective.

I mean you've got people who probably graduated in with a Communications or Art degree, dropped out of high-school and/or failed their GED exam calling people with Computer Engineering degrees idiots. I'm not sure how much more skewed of an opinion you can possibly get.

Everyone's got the right to complain.  We don't have the right to degrade others when we exercise that right.  And we also do ourselves a disservice when we cannot conduct ourselves appropriately.  It's really up to you to choose what the moral standard for your own behavior will be.

But that's quite enough out of me.  One post is plenty for now and two is far too many.

Keep your perspective.  Try to do something difficult today everyone.

Take care and enjoy the game.

With respect Phil you may find many do just that, and v well.  ......Plenty are here with any kind of difficult you can think of.

WGT agree to provide entertainment for a fee, and WGT do not deliver what they charge for (in multi-play) - simple.

I agree personally attacking is never correct, but neither is continuing to provide a service which does not work v well, and charging full price.  Perhaps they could double ball wear for any multi-play for free as a measure of good faith whilst this persists?  A grudging 10% discount back after the already dream rental price was not a sharp move.

A shop charging for something which does not turn up cops some crap, and does not get complimented on the pretty ribbon on the counter that took time to tie.  Way it works.
