rata78: They are lucky not to have competitors
They have. They ran Tiger Woods Online into the ground. Now they're battling against Perfect Golf and some other golf game who's name escapes me.
To date, they've defeated all their competitors.
I remember when Honda, Toyota and Hyundai first came on to the market....they were absolute crap, but they were dirt cheap. They cornered the market based solely on price and, of course, as quality improved, prices went up.
WGT offers a "free" gaming experience in HD...and this is solely to capture the market and avoid any potential competition. Of course, as you want to become competitive, or improve your scoring to enjoy the game more, you have to obtain better equipment, balls etc...whether it's buying it, or sitting in front of videos for hours slowly "earning" it, is up to the player.
None of this has to do with the glitches we are now experiencing, though. To properly address the major problems, it will require WGT to invest $$$ in new and improved servers and other technological upgrades. With a cornered market, there is no real pressure on them to do so.
