Actually although the Nike does have .5 more forgiveness I dont see the .2 differential in balance or precision making that much of a difference

It does and the only way you're going to know is by using it for an extended period. Not saying go out and buy it but I am saying those increases make a difference.  :-)

The underlined comment above by YJ is the point and value of this entire thread. Renting it only for a speedy judgement could be harmful.  ~ SP ~

    True ...

So wait for the next free rental WE ... But, because the limited period offer should have probably ended you'll could not rent it if you have not the levl 101.

All true alberich. But seeing WGT slobbering on themselves with a solo eye focused only on possible, multi $47 windfalls by virtue of their little ruse, does indeed, as I stated earlier, turn me off.  ~ SP ~

one big thing i noticed is the ball comes off the face a lot slower then my versa 70,

Good observation. That is what balance does-makes the roll smoother.  :-)

I agree with Jim, BUT........for the cost of the upgrade....is it really worth it? For me, a player who often misses the ding when putting (sadly not on purpose) it may claw me a shot every couple of rounds.

Add to that I am sure something better will come along in time....nature of the beast. The clubs are getting better all the time where missing a fairway really needs a miscalculation or a real finger-fart, better players are shooting darts from 220 yards out.....(I must iterate...this does not include me lol), when will it stop? All in pursuit of the almighty dollar.

I play for fun, nothing else, if I do not claw back a shot every couple of rounds....it is no big deal.

Is it possible to rent the M1 and get that rental cost back if I buy it?

Rental cost is 15% of full price. If you buy soon afterward (next day or two, I think?), you get 10% off. So you're paying a total of 105% of full price if you end up liking it. For the M1, that's an extra 234 credits.
