"If you want your average in the 50's and Champion-tier without the hard work - then that is piss-easy from the red-tees. Won't mean f%ck-all but it will look nice on your profile.
If you dont give a toss and just want to bang it about for fun - then I've seen plenty of those too - and at level 96 Tour-pro to boot! I personally find it annoying to play with these types - but I do tend to forget this is an online game that accepts anyone - regardless of intent , skill-level or health-status/drug/alcohol-level.
Or perhaps , like me , play just one course and perfect your shots......"
Solarflares.....ty for this post. It is somewhat verbose, but well worth the read for its honesty and fairly accurate assessment.
I have stated before that I play Alternate almost exclusively now...with friends when they are green, or strangers if necessary. I have played with Champion tiers that I know I could beat, and have had my butt handed to me by TMs...easy to figure out which tier is an honest reflection of ability. I have also run into the odd high tier/low average TP...not saying they are sand baggers, but I ensure nothing but bragging rights is on the line. I do have some concerns about $$ tournaments ...I don't know much about them, but I understand a member has to pay to enter, and the payout can be quite high ...certainly these formats would most encourage cheating?....but, those who enter them are the ones to determine this risk. With so many complaints about the cheating (and myriad solutions on how to avoid it), I am given to staying put in my world of sociable alternate games....it's fun, I am actually competitive, and I get to meet a lot of nice people....:)
