Average score movement ?

  Hi all,

  On 8th February 2014, I was promoted to Legend having played 408 ranked rounds.

  Since then I have played a further 516 ranked rounds as a Legend and my average score is still going up and down.

  For example:-

  On the 27th, I was 70.21

  Today, I am 70.22

  Can anyone explain this please as I thought my average score would lock at 500 ranked rounds?

  I'd guess you've counted some par 3/5's in the 516, it is just a guess though.

  That's a good guess, DP. Par 3 and Par 5 courses don't factor into averages.

  I just wish I could remember how many 3's and 5's I've played over the last 18 months !

  You will see saturation by it's consequences.

  First, the average will plunge in some giant steps.

  Then, it will drop from scores above the average as well.

  Last but not least, it won't rise any more in that tier.

  Willie:  I couldn't see any (Par 3/5) in your recent score history so unless your pattern of play or cc tournaments have changed drastically recently maybe not too many.  

  Anyway as alosso said, you'll know as the bad rounds wont make your average rise and the good ones will make it drop much more than they do now.

  I don't think you can advance to tour-Legend based on rounds played , you also have to get your AVG. down to around 61 or so .............good luck sir !

  It's just so frustrating ! ! ! !

  I'm pretty confident that I'm better than my current 70.24 average.

  I can go round in 10 under par and my average drops by 0.1 ! ! !

  I go round in 1 over par and my average rises by 0.2 ! ! !

  I'm now going to assume that 10% of my ranked rounds have been 3's or 5's so it shouldn't be too long now.

  What a crazy game  -  but fun.
