Poor start, recovered well, but threw it away at the end.

I'm still struggling to figure out how to work with Photoshop and postimage.org, but I'm getting there. I had a hole in one on hole 10, but I really struggled with scrambling and putting. Ended up with a 75.

P.S. I forgot to take a screenshot of my clubs again.

P.S.S If you open up the image in a new tab, it increases to full size.

    Round 2 Stats/Screenshots for me:

Wondered what all the fuss was about regarding hole #3 in the first round - soon found out!

First attempt at displaying cards etc this way.

    @Corwyn,

Probably better watching on Youtube itself for clarity methinks.

Any tips regarding settings etc most welcomed. Private message is fine rather than derailing this thread... Mags? :)

    AbuObaidaOpu:
Too bad. I just noticed this rule of verifying my clubs! I thought i wouldn't be able to tee off if i don't modify clubs accordingly.

Other than disappointment of being not eligible for the prizes, i am very happy for the rounds. I'll be looking forward to the next challenges :-) If anything, please don't think i played with wrong clubs and took advantage.

    -Opu

Sadly, there are glitches with the club restrictions (see bottom of first page for full explanation). But it's great to see another new convert to these events. Congrats on your excellent scores, Opu!

    Corwyn:
Once again, you've posted a super clubhouse total for the challengers to target, but it'll take quite the effort to catch you.

Well, I gave it a decent run at trying to catch Mags, but fell a couple of shots short. I thought I still had a chance even on the 16th tee, after an excellent beginning to the back 9, and needing 2 more birds. But a dinged tee shot on #16 went strangely right and way short, leaving too hard a putt and I was also short right on #18 and misread the tricky putt. I'd expected to bogey #3 (played it as a par 5 anyway, not wanting to risk the ravine from the tips) and duly did, but managed to make a mess of #6 after small miss-ding (against wind) on tee shot. I had come close to birdie on #8 as well (wicked lip-out). All in all, very pleased with what was a strong round on a course I struggle with. I hit every green I could reach and made a fair share of mid-range putts. I definitely feel that a 65-67 is possible...

    Here's the full story...

Hole by hole account with wind speed and direction indicated after hole number (often followed by drive distance and remaining distance to hole)

#1 11@130 D 232 >275 2nd >74 between clubs on 3rd but got on with SW and slight push on long, ridge putt PAR

#2  14@530 D 194 >111 2nd came up 6yds short just making front, too much break read into 18ft curler PAR

#3 11@430 >190 2nd shot layup 95 >105 and roll up shot was well short and did not clear ridge, rats! good pace on 36ft putt but pushed 2ft right  BOGEY

#4 12@1030 D 223 >190 bad push on 2nd and it got stuck in right fringe, pretty good lag putt to 2.4ft from 38ft fringe and made short wobbly putt (the hardest 2ft around the hole on WGT, lol!) PAR

    #5  12@1215 nicely judged 3i to 1yd, and sunk 2.2ft putt BIRDIE

#6  11@145 small pull and bounced into 20-25 rough, darn! >213, dinged 2nd but didn't get anywhere, clattered into hillside rough 76 out, yikes and underestimated uphill slope coming up well short on green with 3rd!, and 25ft par putt just misses on low side  BOGEY

    #7 9@9 D230 >300 2nd 210 >90 nice dinged 3rd PW to 2yds short and drilled in the 6ft curler, yes! BIRDIE

#8 12@745 safe 3W to heart of green 5yds short left and got a wicked lip-out from 15ft on a dinged putt when it seemed certain to take the late break arrgh!  PAR

#9  13@430 >261 >93 dinged 3rd 9i but came up short of ridge, perfect weight on 22ft putt but slight push PAR

#10  9@915 missed late on easiest tee shot on course, darn!, but made amends with dinged putt banged in from 15ft short right, phew! (traveling as well!)  BIRDIE

#11  9@745 D push right >161 big uphill didn't think 3H would get there, so played ding 3W but 10yds long and short on big downhill putt 32ft 14d, 2.4ft save PAR

#12 10@615 goodD 217 >185 excellent result on 3W from big sidehill L-R to 4yds below and drained it from 13ft, woo hoo!  BIRDIE

#13 13@115 goodD 256 >92 risked PW 90 to try and get close, only just cleared bunker/fringe with ding and rolled to 4yds short right and managed to sink slippery double-breaker, despite slight pull woo hoo!  BIRDIE

#14 14@530 good D 197 >161 dinged 3i but well right and surprisingly short 7yds, misread degree of late break on 20ft putt from short right, really moved late PAR

#15 9@730 D233 >124 dinged 8i right at it, but 5yds short and perfect read on breaking 14ft putt from short left woo hoo!  BIRDIE

#16 10@6 dinged it with 4i but it went strangely right and hung up on hill (bizarre, aimed right at flag), 19ft with massive sidehill break and slight pull on attempted birdie putt missed well left  PAR

#17 12@715 goodD 232 >212 misjudged 2nd downhill took a lot off distance and came up well short!  judged LW well but allowed too much break and holed nasty 7ft 4in downhill curler, phew!  PAR

#18 9@145 dingD 237 >307 ding3W >111 slight push on 3rd and well short and right, was probably trying to squeeze more out of 9i than was there, left with nasty 23ft putt over ridge and gave it a little too much break, 2.5ft PAR

Just caught up with this video now, Johnny. It's absolutely fantastic! Thank you so much for all the effort that went into it. Inspired stuff, especially to find just the right course-appropriate song!

And yes, I recommend watching it on the YouTube link, with sound ON!

.... however, Johnny, in good ol' Monty Python tradition, there's a snafu. I didn't notice the SW or LW in the video, and we need those as well. (You did show Driver, 3W, 3H, the 6 iron, and the putter; it's only the 3W, 3H, SW, LW that are the issue).

    Hi Corwyn,

I realised the above after posting the video myself. Error on my part of course.

All I can say is; I didn't really think it would be a problem as I don't own any 'purchased'  high level wedges whatsoever - haven't since Xmas - sure a mod can confirm this to be the case via my account history.

If the matter can't be resolved then it's fine. Lesson learned I s'pose.

    Thanks for hosting.

Played well but just not many birdie opportunities.

#3 3W approach pin high but in right rough. made 6ft par putt.

     #4 approach 48yds short

#6 drive missed fairway, 3W punch 56yds short, made 1.6ft par putt

     #12 made 17ft bird putt

     #15 made 5.6ft bird putt

#17 3W approach ran thru the green, then 3 putted from back fringe for bogey

Nothing especially bad and 2 lucky shots: Getting up/down in 2 on #6 and17ft bird putt on #12.

These are great fun Corwyn, thank you.
