i just played a "pro"  and this person was way too good to be where they were...  has this game lost all integrity??   i asked this person about exploiting the game and the "ability" that they had...  the response was   "im just playing the game"  clearly this person is not who they say they are... so sad....  Ive played way too many matches to be fooled by BS players...  horrible...  i want to give the persons name but they could just create a new account anywany...   so sad.

I'm just thinking out loud, if my Son wanted to sign up using his Laptop in his bed room would he be able to. (don't worry he's only 16 and prefers to kill things in Halo and Gears of war ).

When it comes to violating the T&C to win money off of people, the multi-accounter is an outright fraud.

As for the fairly low stakes in the free tournaments, it is mostly bad for morale when an inexperienced player plays his heart out to win a good score and then gets bounced out of the prize by a cheating multi-accounter. Sometimes other players can see perfectly well that the "winner" is really just a cheater, and turn that person in, and still their name is up there in lights as the "winner."

For the sake of everyone else, when you come across one of these people it is really important to turn them in. WGT should monitor for such people, but reporting them seems like the best way. Then WGT does an investigation. (They do investigate and kick people off, but they do not release the results or talk about any specifics on the site.)

This has been brought up almost as much as quitters.  It would do some good to research the forums and comment on those already-existing threads rather than start yet another one.

In summary sandbaggers, or multi-accounters, do exist.  The largest majority of the newer players with great scores are immigrants from another golf site that shut down a few months back.  When you go to that site it directs you to WGT.  Those players joined here with an already-established skill set from the other site.  Hence, they are legitimate accounts belonging to good players.

Then there's the players who woke up Legends last September after the big change.  There are several of those players who couldn't adapt and started a new account.  I've come across several, did the research on their old accounts, and not one of the old accounts had been used since the new account had been created.  No harm no foul.

The true sandbaggers, or multi-account holders are fewer and further in between than the previously mentioned players.  if you suspect someone of sandbagging send proof to members@worldgolftour.com .  Otherwise, it's yet another wasted thread full of accusations, speculation, and conjecture.

It takes a lot of time and effort to learn how to putt, how to adjust for wind, how to adjust for elevation.  The lower tiers should be everyone in the same boat and struggling to learn.  If I started a new account, I would dominate the bracket, tournament, head to head play unless I faced another experienced person regardless of the clubs I used.  Not only that, when I would know how not to get promoted to a higher rank as quickly so I would do it for a longer period.  So, in effect, it's fraud or outright theft.  People pay money to buy the credits they expend in this game, so yes, it's theft.

Not exactly and we should be given clarity on this from WGT.  This is what I understand to be the way it is although it changes, almost never for the better, all the time.

It is against the terms and conditions to have more than one account.  It is not against the terms and conditions to restart. So you could just close your Legend account and restart as a hack.  WGT gain (as you need to start buying equipment again) and first time players obviously lose out.  At least mobile players can, I've not seen it on my account.

This is from WGTNico on Discord

we have delete accounts available on apple now so someone can fully delete their accounts without us doing it

    [21:38]

but there's also a note that signifies that the account was deleted, if you don't go through that process then you look just like a multi account

    no

    [21:39]

suspended, banned are different from deleting an account

    [21:39]

also if someone is deleting an account just to sandbag then that's also not okay

Looking now the just (his italics) is odd.  Sandbagging is ok as long as there's another reason too? Lol, probably me over interpreting again, anyway how could they know/what could, or would, they do.

    also champ chipped in:

Yes. Apple required we have it, Android seems like they're going to require it soon, and so it just makes sense we'll open it to everyone eventually.

On the android bit this had already been said:

    Dhjam1 — 21/07/2022 21:45

    Can also delete on android

I was a re-start on flash. Technical problems prevented me from logging in, so wgt allowed me to set another account and start over. I think I was a Pro or TP at the time. Had to buy all my clubs and balls again (as Dodgy alluded to) and this no doubt made the wgt bean counters very happy...lol

The bit of experience I gained before the re-start did help me in the beginning against other hacks and amateurs, but you tend to quickly progress up the ladder and it evens out. I never played for anything but fun, so a few cheaper wins in the beginning didn't bother me too much in terms of feeling guilty.
