    ct690911:
Today, for the first time in 4 years, I received a warning from WGT about some of my posts. I don't even know what rule I broke?..or why it took me 4 years to break it?...lol. I naturally asked what standards were used to merit threats of suspension? (not just what is published in the T&C's). I received no reply. I'm certain that I was not singled out. Others must have received warnings. I have read far worse on here than anything I have ever posted.

I've been having my posts monitored for months, I received no warning before or explanation after.  My best guess as to why is that I said someone was lying and quoted, in full, a previous post saying the opposite of the one I was replying to.  The reply was to someone who was supporting the clash which may or may not be relevant.

In the meantime I've seen deaths celebrated, threats of violence and much more that (to me) is worse than anything I'd ever say.

I suppose I can be a bit sarcastic/ironic sometimes which where I come from is just a way we kid each other on, but maybe doesn't go down well here either.

What we have to do is keep within the mods interpretation of the rules and I would assume, and admit it's an assumption, that the mods deciding what is acceptable are American.

As Andy rightly says we do have to remember there are all kinds of people on here, but maybe we also have to remember we have to stick to the rules as certain American people would interpret them.  That, at times, may vary from what some of the rest of the world would think.

I really don't mean this in a bad way, it's not intended to be critical of Americans or suggest some of them wouldn't know irony if it bit them on the bum, just they might see things their way, as we all do.  So write American.

ps: I checked in the guidelines and don't see how this is doing either however it is interpreted.  Although how can anyone post anything that couldn't be construed to be.......?

    NATIONAL ŀ

Do not post anything that is, or could be, construed to be:

    • promoting national hatred/ill will

    • hateful slurs of symbols based on nationality

Anyway ct, good luck with not posting I've thought that a few times, and don't go cheating with even more wall messages.

All my posts are moderated before they hit the forum.  I thought that was standard practice because I never had a post just go up without moderation. When does the moderation end?

.just be wary of the T&C's.

Therein lies the problem. As black and white as they are, they are arbitrarily enforced with no rhyme or reason. Colin probably got slapped because of an abuse complaint.

All:  TY  for taking the time to post your support, both in here and on my wall. Although the posts differ to some degree on why I may have received a warning, they also help develop a mosaic of me. I can see myself through your eyes. Fascinating.

I highlighted Jim's post, because his opinion is more in line with what I was also thinking.

When I believe that someone (incl me) is being unfairly attacked, I will mount a vigorous defense. Isn't that what men do?. that said, I have to also realize that some people can certainly dish it out, but are not so good at taking it...probably why I was "squealed" on. Isn't that what little kids do?

I will heed your collective advice and continue in the forums. I hope wgt reads this thread, as it contains good advice for us all, including the Mods.

ps : @wigertoods...soz I bore the t.its off you. On an up note, men look better without them. Also, what I posted on your wall was a clarification of something I had thought you misunderstood. nws..:)

Perhaps it was entirely justified and the OP can't see it that way? We're only getting one side of a story.

If the mods saw proper jusification then good for them. Calling the education level of other posters into question and pissing around over "Proper English" in the most condescending manner should be brought to  the attention of the mods.

All opinions welcome right boys? Well there^ it is.

CT read all your posts and l have never seen anything that comes close to offensive in them, Nothing like a good thread with some lively sparky back and forth if wgt stop this it will just not be worth reading the wgt forums at all

l personaly would not or do not hold a grudge against anyone in these forums who Express  their honest felt views though l may not actualy agree with them.

                                                        Hang in there m8

You are correct when you state I posted only my side. But if you read the entirety of my post, their side was never provided to me...and I did ask for it.

Your peeve is my correcting others on poor grammar?. I have said many times, that I base my responses on who is writing the post. If a person has little education, I am not "condescending"...If a person claims to be a high ranking official, yet can't be bothered to even spell check a word, then I do point it out...is this person a poser? Perhaps that should be the issue brought to the mods. Correcting someone's poor grammar may bug you, but it is not against the T&Cs.

We have never met, so I cannot fairly judge you. But, I do have a problem when someone cherry picks what I write, doesn't provide the context in which it was written, and gratuitously posts his or her gleeful agreement with an unexplained reprimand. (would that not bother you also?)

Finally, if you are displeased with my opinions, simply don't read them. If you do read them, please show the courtesy to actually understand them, before you weigh in..fair?

    cheers,
