The most ridiculous hole in the game.. when you hit a perfect drive and the smart shot from 180 is to lay up, something is wrong.  I made the foolish mistake of going for the green, and hit a pretty good 3 iron to 20 feet, only to find that the putt broke sideways, well, it's a ridiculous pin... get rid of that hole location already...

It's a great hole, you just don't know how to play it. Going for the green is a silly choice, because you know you're going to get the sideways putt. Lay up to the distance of your shortest wedge, and you may get a few birdies! I had one once, it was in from the bunker...

    You just made my point..

Guess I should have been more clear- it's the most ridiculous hole location in the game.. I know exactly how to play it (went for it this one time as I was having a crap round and was experimenting), and if you have to lay up from 180 to make par, it's a crap pin.  That's all I'm saying. That, and it wouldn't hurt to change it once every millenium...

Yes it would. It would ruin the hole.

Can make an approach stick up there, just have to be coming in from 140 or lower, so 8 iron is the max range.

Trouble is from the tips unless we get a ferocious tail wind we never get close enough to take it on, so normal is to try and make bird from the bunker. It is certainly a challenging hole, but guess that is part of the charm.

    If I'm on the green in 2, I've made a mistake :-)

give me the 14-15 yrd bunker shot and I'll take my chances with a possible hole out.

Lol yeh, you're right price.....though it's the pragmatic way of playing this hole. But I think most of us agree, this ain't the way we like 2 play golf.

I agree with CM727 2 have another pinpos.....or even better: Icon with a shovel 2 flaten it out and glue it afterwards 4 extra bite :)

Love that pin!!!!!  Great hole to finish match play on. Make a par normally wins the hole. JB
