    AvatarLee:

Or you could just do this...

j/k.... very low percentage make from there.

Pretty nice putt! First thing it made me think about was the chip in from Woods in the Masters a few years ago.

Relative to distance the hole placement on any hole should not be designed to "force" a layup to save par under normal conditions.  I grant that it makes the hole more difficult and interesting but from the distance that some have to approach from, the idea that you have to "miss' the green intentionally to save par is borderline unfair.

Awesome Lee, although I dare say a very low percentage 2 putt from there :-)  No guts, no glory...

I think we all agree that the best way to par this hole is to layup.  From the legend tees, it's almost always 190+ approach.  I would think there could be a better use of the slopes in the greens with regard to pin position, to punish a bad shot.  When it's a 3 or 4 iron uphill, you have to be extremely lucky to hit this green and make a par.  There's no margin for error.  And, since most of us figured out pretty damn quick that going for it in two is a mistake, I'm not even sure where a perfect approach to that green is.. or if one exists, short if hitting the flag.

Why change the pin location? Thats the beuty of this hole, it can determine your round!!

Challenging holes have to be in the game, why birdie every hole? Game would get boaring without a few hairy moments!

i think the best way to have a chance for birdie and par on that hole is put your approach shot in the bunker closest to the green.........it plays like hole 15 at bethpage  hit it past and let it roll back down to the hole

Nice word, borderline ... it lets you get away with using "fair" and "golf" in the same sentence.
