Sorry to disagree uggggg but i believe its the best course we have! Its about the only course where you can score really well if you hit the ball in the right spots on the green and you also can shoot 80 if you dont! All the people complaining about how hard this is, Tiger Woods 2011 is coming out soon!

Oakmont is not as easy course. Why do you think The USGA picked it for so many U.S. Opens? They don't pick easy courses for the Opens. But that being said, I love to play it. And I've had some very good rounds there and some awful round as well. I played it last week forgetting to change my set-up from my CTTH set-up so I played the full 18 with no driver or 3 wood and ended up with an 84, But i have had a couple of 63's there and that's great for me.

I find Oakmont difficult but not impossible.  The key is knowing when to play agressive and when to play conservative.  I have had a 62 there and generally shoot around 65 to 68 when I play it from the back tees with tournament green speed.

Try having your first round on it in the Open. A lot of us thought the same.

I like the course, except for the green around the hole on 2 and the silly pin on 9.

Plug away on this course and BP and you will be a better all round player. That's the beauty of having four distinct courses.

I have scored a 65 on Oak and it is probably better than the 62 and 29 I have recorded on STA - at least as far as satisfaction is concerned.

Half the issue with BP and Oak is that they are Par 70s. Compared to the par 72s on the two easier courses. Oak is also a shocker with tournament plus greens. What makes it unfair sometimes is that you are better off putting it in the bunker or rough on 9 and trying to save par, then you get it within 3 feet and have a huge slant to deal with.

    OUCH.

BP is the same. Wise heads tell you that it is better to lay up in the rough or bunker at 5 and 15 and settling for a par. I doubt real pros do that. Plus 7 is a par 4, and needs good wind conditions to allow you to two putt for Par. I know that the Open the course was based on did the same but Pros can hit further than we can with our virtual clubs.

Still, happy hitting and KISS - Keep It in the Short Stuff.

Too right Pete.  Last night I scored -3 on the back 9 at Oak, admittedly the easier 9 (as it doesn't have holes 2 and 9 - lol), but I was over the moon - just ask Lizzie, GolfKid or Kendo.  I was dancing on the last green and allsorts after I sunk my birdie putt on #18.

Oak can be horrible and frustrating, but it is about putting the ball in the right place to give yourself those chances.  And there is the odd hole (#9) where you take your par any which way you can and run!

And run quick before the ball pops back out. LOL

Oakmont is the most beautiful WGT course to me. Challenging greens, heavy rough all along the way, many evil pins.

But above all it's the perfect downill putt training school. If you learn how to putt in Oakmont, you'll be upgraded to the next level.
