Years ago (we're talking 40 years, so actually decades ago) a very good friend was golf coach at a local college. When the team would take a road trip, he'd invite me along and list me as an assistant coach so I could play for free. We'd usually tee it up with coaches from a couple of the other teams.
I'd usually make up a name just for kicks. On one particular trip I signed in as Dr. William Doctor, PhD. Spent some time on the way to the course rehearsing so I'd get it right. We met the other coaches at the first tee. Shaking hands with the other two coaches, I introduced myself to each one like so, saying as fast as I could, "Hi, Doctor Bill Doctor doctor of philosophy philosophy."
The combination of the looks on their faces and my friend trying rather unsuccessfully to stifle a laugh made it all worthwhile.
