    • The heaviest turkey weighed in at 86 pounds. His name was Tyson.
    • Mature turkeys have about 3,500 feathers.
    • The turkey industry grosses over $1billion a year.
    • The Average American consumes over 15 pounds of Turkey per year.
    • Americans will cook over 45 million turkeys on Thanksgiving Day.
    • Over 770 million pounds of cranberries are consumed on Thanksgiving.

Canada celebrates Thanksgiving in October. We didn't have pilgrims, per se. Ham and Turkey are the two big meals that day, but we certainly don't celebrate it like the Americans. It's not considered an official holiday, except for banks and government (what a surprise). In most other cases, it's just another day up here.

Enough about turkeys, ct.  I'm just glad that I found Guys and Dolls.  I was a member at a large club that didn't know when I joined and didn't know when I left.

I have not only been embraced by this small family from the start, but I have also been able to improve my game tremendously, have received tons of gifts (most not deserved), and so much more.

You're crazy if you don't check out Guys and Dolls!

I have a triptophan hangover from the turkey today.  But I logged on today to notice that despite the holidays, we are only two members shy of reaching 100% playing again in a current Guys vs Dolls challenge that we run each month for one week.

I think we'll reach it again this month.  Does your CC get 100% of its members regularly showing up for CC tournaments?  Do you wish for more member involvement?  Does your CC offer $50 in random giveaways like we have in this tournament (regardless of where you finish in the tourney)?  Then come join us!

I didn't broach Turkeys (or US Thanksgiving)...your small family did. I am pleased you have found a home. Most large CCs don't know when a player joins or leaves...nor do they care.

    just sayin'

Exactly!  But Guys and Dolls does embrace every new member as special, and it is a very special and unique CC.  Many who choose not to participate regularly have their memberships deleted (with the understanding that they can become members again if they should choose to become active again).  But that is one of the things that makes our CC very unique.  We often get 100% participation (or close to that) in CC tournaments!  Has that been your experience?  Do you wish that would be so?  Maybe our CC is a fit for you.

    Just sayin' ...

I totally agree.  I also joined a big CC soon after joining WGT.  Nobody noticed when I joined and nobody noticed when I left.   From day 1, Guys and Dolls became home.  And check out the fact that we currently have about $500 on the table for the last month of the year (for a CC of only 23 members)!   Amazing!

I may tire of playing this game at some point.  But until then, I am never leaving Guys and Dolls.  I don't think any CC can compare to what we have (and I'm not talking about the number of members or amount of meaningless CC xp points).

You had better not ever leave, Tam!

On another note, why do so many CC's care about CC xp points?  You don't get anything from that!  Some want putter pal and shot pal (which everyone gets after a CC reaches just a few levels), but I don't know any of our members that even use either of those.  After that, there is zero benefit from WGT.  Some CC's claim to be the top (or one of the top CC's) in all of WGT based upon xp points?  Or because of their xp totals in CC vs CC clashes?  What?  What???

And the CC vs CC clashes?  A sham, created by WGT to get more people to spend money on worthless CC passes.  Why not have real CC competition through CC vs CC match play?  The clashes are just plain stupid and worthless.

The only thing that makes a CC great (in my opinion) is the level of participation from its members in CC activities.  From that standpoint, Guys and Dolls is at the very top.  And we have about $500 in giveaways in the next month alone (for less than 25 members).  How does that compare with where you are now?

    Just sayin',

    Dave

I agree with you, Dave. CC xp is pretty meaningless. A majority of our members will say yes to a free CC pass most of the times that they play a round (I mean, why not say yes if it doesn't cost anything). But no membership was ever discontinued at Guys and Dolls for lack of xp contributions!
