    tezzastheman:

borntobebesting. you make it sound like you have been here forever, have EVERY peice of equipment available...how come your just an average player?

    Tezzastheman,

Maybe I'm blind and confused but his stats are far and away better than yours, he is about 1 point away from Legend and shares freely the experience of close to 1700 ranked rounds, whereas you have 200 ranked rounds.

I am unsure what would motivate you to make that remark?

    SM

I would venture to guess-------------bad manners

    Well, I upgraded.

So far no difference. The same little turns at the end at Bethpage. The extra precision and forgiveness doesn't exist.

Surely I haven't misjudged 6 putts on the same course.

Basically. if I missed them by a fraction or dodgy turn with the cheaper Redwood, I miss them identically with this.

Despie blowing away over a 1000 net credits, I am actually happy because those with the cash don't buy an advantage this time.

Bit disappointed that WGT dresses up some old tat and sells it for 2X the price.

Everyone, if you have the 600 Redwood DO NOT trade up. DO NOT listen to what the so called experts on here tell you.

Next the jokers will be on to tell me to trade this in for the ghost when I get the chance.

    LET ME MAKE THIS CLEAR.

For the UNWARY. This upgraded con is the second biggest waste of money on WGT behind the booster drinks.

5 bogies on the back 9 at BP, all makeable putts from inside 7ft, all turning at the last. Very fast gree playing like Oak tourno. 2 sub 5ft putts at Kia 10/12 both missed. One turning and short by 2 in the other missed from 2.5ft with plenty of turn allowed for.

The shocker is I have been putting well today.

This putter may have ruined my game. I have to seriously consider selling it back to WGT for peanuts and buying a new 600 CR one for 4X the cashback I got for the last one.

My point people is don't get swayed by that extar half point ifn forgiveness or precision. It doesn't exist. I think it was never added when WGT dressed this club up.

    Absolutely shocking. Well done WGT.

It's your own fault for buying it in the first place. Don't complain to everyone else of your failures on the green. I played someone with that putter not too long ago. He made everything. Not only that the Daytona imo is better than both of the redwoods and I've had them both.

Sorry did some jerkoff just fart.

The thread is asking why this costs double and what does it bring to your bag.

My view is nothing. It is my fault for buying it, and my fault for listening to respected players who help WGT justify the cost.

It's not a bad putter at all. It's just NO better than the 600.

And if you had eyes you could read that that's the point of the thread.

I doubt whether the player you played makes everything all the time. I'm a fair to good putter thanks.

The only value to your post is the comment about the Daytona. But hey, just another expert. Not trading in for quarter of the price again.

So - I'm using the spider, is this why I can have a good front nine, then have a mare over the back nine, because its inconsistent?

I think it is universally accepted that the spider is a duff club. All top players will tell you to ditch it.

It is well past time for EGT to remove it from the club shop.

Sorry Pete' to have to tell you this but; fair is stretching it, good is an exaggeration!

Don't take offence, my putting stats are a little better then yours, and my putting sucks.

I do agree with you that it is a con to double the price for basically the same putter.

My advice to anyone would be the Rossa period....just look at the top 10-15 players on this site and see which putter they prefer.

    No offence taken.

TBH I was comparing my putting to all who play on this site. As a newby TM I have had to adjust a little. I consider my putting to be fair for my level and experience. I am not yet entering TM only RGs for instance.

In other words I am still learning.

I don't know what you would say is the level below fair - average.

I lay up long putts very well. It's the  7ft to 25ft that I need to improve.

Those two putters are far from the same, maybe that's why your missing the 'make-able' putts lol. Its simply a case of you expecting way too much from half a dot added precision and balance. For  putts inside 15ft, they pretty much react the same. It's actually much easier to miss the ding on the Redwood lvl72 and those missed ding's seem to have a greater effect for whatever reason. I've used those putters for about a 100 games each and can say you'll eventually become aware of the added precision.

This anticipation of much better results is probably why I had so much frustration with the ghost putter, IMO it costed a lot more than my Redwood lvl72 and all I got is a putter that was marginally better with frustrating increments.

In the end like all I traded in for the daytona and that is the best downgrade ever. It is just so easy to hit it consistently.
