Country Clubs are the meat and potatoes of WGT. A country club is a place where people who share a love for the game can come together, build friendships, and share ideas. Country clubs promote comradery, values, and advance skill through friendly competition.

Not many people are aware of the time, effort, and financial burden required in building and sustaining a successful country club. Things such as Country Club passes that are only available to members, creating club tournaments, the 20% lost from those purses, and monitoring and maintaining club membership.

Although, as owners, we may not always see eye to eye, I would like to take this opportunity to put our differences aside and thank all of you for your dedication and hard work. You don't get the recognition you deserve. To have a Country Club on the leader board is commendable, to take a club to a high level is great achievement and deserves the utmost respect.

Without Country Clubs, this would just be another game. As an owner myself, I understand and appreciate all you do. Though we may not always agree, we do share common ground.

I tip my hat to you!!

    Respectfully,

    Ceverett12

Good words CE, as per my message to you, thanks

Theres some great clubs here, with owners, directors and members enjoying themselves, either in playing the organised cub events, or just having some great friendly banter within their own website forums, or WGT forum.

Lot of us do message each other quite a bit........ the good guys.

agreed...we do all share with putting in considerable effort and time...but i believe the things we deal with vary alot depending on the size of the club and the quality of the players

While I don't agree with your apparent line in the sand regarding size, our little club is currently in the top 30, so I too appreciate your kind words.

But I do hope you don't go down the "elite" road; I'm sure there are many club owners with 20-30-40 members who have the same woes and face the same challenges as the owners of more established clubs. Discounting their views would seem rather elitist and callous when all owners face the same problems ...unless of course there is more to it than that?

    Onwards and upwards,

    Roddy

Reflects my own thoughts pretty much exactly CE. It IS hard work and CAN be costly - but in the end, when you see your members having fun and enjoying themselves, that is reward enough.

Indeed, making a good CC with regular events, if that's what your club does takes time and effort and seeing members enter and play those events makes it worthwhile.

I also tip my cap to the owners/directors of all those successful clubs who grow their membership purely through adverts and word of mouth, that's how to grow a good club ;)
