Was on the 18th at Kiawah, about 2 inches on the fringe putting about 8' for a birdie... when I failed to notice the putt-o-meter was set for 150 FEET.  My little tap went about 40 feet and off the green.

Rebounded for a bogie but the moral is LOOK AT THE PUTT-O-METER when on the fringe!

    Doh  ...  ;o)

I never putt from there, a little chip and run tends to get me nearer, just like in real golf.

I tired this but I couldn't get it to rebound.  What did your ball hit to get the rebound?

I find that grabbing my caddy by the neck and choking him till he almost passes out helps the next time he selects a club or meter for me.

This morning in a multi player round with Sgt. Doodle and another guy before my game messed up and i ended up finishing solo, on # 10 @ St. Andrews I drained a 12 foot putt from the fringe. Unless it is a weird lie or a very very short shot I almost always putt from the fringe and make quite a few of them. What I do is add 3 feet to the length needed for the putt and putt as normal.

If you smack him with a 4 iron a couple of times he'll behave.  :-))

I am also not a fan of the fringe and 150 ft putter.  Cost me a few strokes before.

    1" of fringe = 1' of green ><
