    JFidanza:

What if the PGA would adapt to the WGT feature of unlimited round tournaments?

Can you imagine the state of golf IRL if we allow that option? Funny how people get ruffled about the 'unrealistic' features but yet accept the other ones that benefit themselves.

Heck, you could play unlimited rounds, a several dozen times, all shots with a 3W and eventually you may get a very low score. If not, just play it all over again.

Then there are those who get miffed when they run out of a pro shop ball and get a starter ball. Different issue but similar. In PGA rules you wouldn't get a starter ball even. You would simply have none at all.

Not an issue! Vijay Singh grew up playing with coconuts, so if in a tropical area players could just continue with those!

These are the ones that have tens of thousands of posts bullying anyone with any opinion not of their own.
Who are you talking about? None here!

Being second in this thread's post count and well outside "tens of thousands", I attest that there's nobody in here (and on the site I suppose) with that much bullying posts.

    SadieSue77:
One would think they would use their proposed experience and knowledge helping those less experienced players in a productive way.
YJ and I do this a lot, and despite of our encounter here I gladly admit that I learned a lot from him concerning this game.

And, about "play the actual game", rain will stop at 8 am tomorrow, and I'm gonna meet my friends later for a friendly whack & Schnack.

Hi there Alosso,  The original post was dealing with using a wedge on a green in WGT!    Nothing was said about using the wedge continuously or as the only club on the green.  This thread went from that to using a wedge continuously in real life.  In this situation I agree with those that oppose it.  RL greens would not last long and even if allowed in the rules it doesn't give someone the right to selfishly destroy them.  As referenced earlier it doesn't take "Stephan Hawking" to figure that out.  As the greens in WGT don't have this problem (again...original post) why would you care what anyone uses trying to better their individual game or even experiment with something new.  As stated before this is a computer game and as long as the game allows one to hit a wedge or any other club on the green or anywhere else they should have the right to be wrong in yours or anybody elses eyes without having to hear 6 pages of crap about it.  I think you called it an "encounter".  All of this just because it annoys someone.  Lol.  As far as "playing the actual game" I merely meant taking a break from posting and playing WGT not RLG.  I was answering someone's previous post.  You must have missed it.  I do apologize if my opinions or comments made you so obviously defensive, but I was just voicing my opinion.  I have learned more on this thread than anyone has a right to.  Thanks for your contribution to my education.  Please enjoy your game with your friends tomorrow and have some fun.  Good luck and have a great day!

Not sure if divots really need to be a consideration even. Its simply the fact the literally every single pro would rather putt than chip on a green as a primary choice. So many even putt from 30ft+ off the green and quite a lot putt even from the rough if its close enough to the pin.

On the first green when it's your turn, pull out your wedge and see what the other guys say. ;-)

    LOL!

It's a small green, I rather putt from outside than pitch from inside. I also told you of my habits :o)

On the light side of the rules, I'm frequently confronted with a common myth on the first tee. There are a lot of high handicappers, so co-players habitually say, "You have the best handicap, you tee off first!" But, as they know that I know the rules quite well, they buy into my reply, "The rules are different: Due to my handicap I'm entitled to decide on the sequence - you begin!"

    *grins*

    (truth in rule 10-2 a))

Just curious, what is your handicap alosso?

I'm around a 30 myself... hoping to get that lower, but I have no distance, so I don't see it going much below 20 at best.

Same here, old man golf does that.  Just means driver then fwy wood/hb to a wedge you can hope to stick for a scramble save. Usually a bogey though.  LOL

Lets no confuse WGT with actual golf. The 2 are so far apart it doesn't matter. WGT count putts hit from the fringe as a putt, it's not a putt.  Bunkers are pretty straight forward in the real game, in fact sometimes you even aim for them on purpose. In this game they are quite the challenge.

I cannot hit the chief off the deck in WGT. If I chip it onto a teeing ground in WGT the ball is tee'd up again. Nobody putts as good as you can on WGT. Or hits it this straight off the tee. The list goes on and on. Some rules are similar like using wedges on greens, if this is the best way to get it in the hole in the least amount of shots then it's fine. I'm yet to see anyone in this game who can use the wedge as well as Fmags can putt.

There were times as a short tempered youth I had to finish quite a few rounds putting with the belly of the sand iron, my putter had met it's demise on an earlier hole. It's not that bad of a way to putt and you get some nice topspin on your putts.

Why long pants?  We wear long pants because it's not only in the tradition of the game but it's part of the dress code. Lot's of professions have dress codes and this is the PGA's when playing most Tournaments. I say most because here in Australia PGA members are allowed to wear shorts when playing in Pro-Ams. It looks terrible and unprofessional IMHO.

So don't be worried about breaking any of golfs unspoken rules or etiquette on WGT. It's not golf, it's just a computer simulation. Have fun and do whatever floats your boat people.  :-)
