.......or David Leadbetter hangs a plumb bob from the flag? Wind might be an issue, but not if it is heavy enough.

Sorry. A single plum bob hanging from the flag wouldn't work of course as it wouldn't tell you what the elevation or turn is between the ball and pin.

So.....you can buy with credits a box of plumb bobs that you can get Mr Leadbetter to place between the ball and pin. Simple!

The current system seems to be a bit over complicated and the introduction of Sir David with facial ticks and hand gestures combined with the plumb bobs should simplify matters.

Or maybe hitty hard could learn the rest of the game, and may not be a 70+ av at level 89!

and start giving out advise/comments to others .

Just my point of view. Op seems a lot better player.

    Mee-owwwww!

I think Hitty was just being tongue in cheek about a suggestion that is pretty pointless.  Given that the whole grid shows you the elevation, what would the triangle being a different colour do to help?  And considering that the actual drop or rise from your ball to the triangle is also written above said triangle, along with another smaller triangle that points up or down to indicate rise or fall makes me think this sentence is way too long.

And that we sure as shite do not need another bloody tip as to whether the putt is uphill or downhill.

Tongue in cheek was exactly what is was. OP is a legend - I've moved from the tablet playing coin games only 6 weeks ago and the avg is coming down.....

IMHO, I find the current system, on reflection, as more than adequate. My poor putting is purely down to my lack of skill. At the moment.

.....or maybe Sir David Leadbetter could upend a bag of marbles from different green locations.....along with my previous suggestions?

Perhaps WGT could start selling inclinometers in the pro shop, just in case those marbles are too hard to see.

Those of us who were around haven't forgotten the uproar the larger dots on the grid caused a few years ago : )

Y'suppose the triangle could be made a trapazoid?  That would REALLY clarify things!

I like it. The trapezoid would make you think "Stop! What is that? Ahhh.....check elevation" It would work - but only in the short term as you start to become complacent. A new shape every month?

The inclinometers sound good - and like the marbles / plumb bobs / guest appearances by David would generate money for WGT. But I'm yet to be convinced on this one. Willing to try though.

There must be something better out there?

I have a friend who knows vegetables very well. They say that broccoli (Brassica oleraceagrows perpendicular to the medium that it  grows in. She has hanging baskets where they sprout out at 90°! (Waiting for pictures to post).

With careful planting, spacing, thinning and nurture, she thinks you could have a nailed on solution to the elevation problem.

Sir David would have to sow the seeds (doesn't work with mature plants) and then roll on a hydroponics setup to accelerate the sprouting heads. Players would have to decide where to sow. (WGT to sell the seeds of course).

Elevation - after 6 to 9 days - would be more pronounced. Dah-dah!

Or you could use them as a gutter to bounce the ball in?

I saw in a post today (Boycotting Clashes?) that someone was thinking of boycotting broccoli.

    Think again my friend.......

Haven't got pictures yet. Suspect information was false.
