when you barely miss was it in the direction of a strong crosswind with full backspin? mistakes are magnified in certain scenarios.    I will say this, this game is a ton about the numbers and math and hitting dings or learning to offding if that's your style either way it requires some precision. But it also is not purely about math because there are some basic inconsistencies in the game.

HOWEVER, the inconsistencies are consistent.  Things like "ignore the elevation" or " If below and right of hole ignore the break it's a straight putt" or "it looks straight, it's not.aim  quarter grid left."

When something happens that's unusual. Make a note of it. Compare it to the next time you play the hole. Were you long by 5 yards both times?? Might be a pattern. Stronger note. Confirm with a 3rd or 4th time.

    Putters matter.

Dings matter on putting and distance control. (or precision with offdinging.)

When you play with most Legends and above we are usually not happy when we miss dings on approach shots. It's the difference between 5 foot and less putts and 8-12 foot putts. (or worse).

i don't like playing Ranked rounds or tourneys on my tablet and prefer desktop for that. Why? I can hit the ding more. When I use a tablet I basically allow a wider range of misses. But it hurts the scoring by a few strokes a round. (most times).

Find a meter combination of ball an clubs that you can ding more than you don't and the scores will drop. I can't tell you what that is for you.  Just have to play and find it.

I would say a steel series mouse for the price cant be beat (especially the 100 and 300 rival)For the price they play great and are comfortable and very responsive..25 to 40 us dollars.

Have you ever considered that it is the fact that they have put in so much more time than you have that is why they are beating you and has very little to do with them being more skillful than you.

You are half correct in saying people who play more are less skillful...You will in fact be LESS skillful the less you play (You might think that in theory but in practice its the opposite)It's the way in which you think and HOW you practice that brings about the income you so desire (Definition of Insanity)Keep doing the same you will never get any better.
