I think SM's point was more to the fact that you can't swap the set wedge out for it. It would be worth carrying it anyway and just not use the set wedge but that leaves too big of a gap under 115. Carrying 4 wedges it would be a no brainer but that really isn't practical at the Legend level. TMs sure would have a good time though.

I'm with you on the 64 degree wedge, Z.

A 50 yarder would have been nice, or better still a 40 yard one.

Strange, I would chuckle just a bit except of course for the tragic loss of a Callaway ball and wrecking your round and so on.

    (chortle)

Now the laugh's on me. Perfect 80-yard wedge at St. Andrew's, full backspin on the Cleveland 60 wedge, lands next to the hole and backs up 10 yards, lucky to make par.

Please don't say mañana if you don't mean it!

Just got done trying my two wedges that i bought. wow, what back spin they have. It just opened up my game a little more. tried some 1/2, 3/4 shots with back spin. The club sticks like glue on the green. also tried some pitching 1/2, 3/4 shots, they stop pretty good. So.....keeping that in mind. That gives me the option of dropping my 50 yard wedge and just carrying these 2 wedges and putting a hybrid in my bag at times. Gonna have to play around some more. sweet clubs.

Mr Magic, commiserations on your recent loss. I hope Mr and Mrs Calloway can forgive you for your excessive use of back spin, that saw their son/daughter needlessly slide to their watery grave.

Seriously though, you really don't need to be putting anything near to full back spin on wedge shots 120 yards in, particularly if you do play the Calloway balls.

Less spin = More shots holed.

I agree. I don't use the Callaways so this is the first time I've seen that much spin. Now I just have to figure out how much spin  not  to put on it. Even moreso, it took me a few shots to realize the higher loft of them makes a bigger difference in winds than the Satins did. New learning curve.  :-)

    Tks Tiff and YJ

I agree with you both, I got used to using a lot of back spin with the SD ball...hard habit to break. I saw your recent post to BacardiAndCoke Tiffer and it was sound advice.

The vagaries of spin, especially with "Callies" and the new Cleveland wedges are a must now!
