No need to apologize, Icon, things are going like we thaught they would do.

3rd straight day downtime means that your team fixed the fix of the fixes now?

    Curious:

How will you transport this important message to everyone of the millions of users that don't frequent this forum?

    LOL,,,Right on alosso.

Also - "frequent the forums". LMAO! I remember the night after an update there would be 12, 14, 16 pages of input and conversation.

NOW!- we're lucky to read 3 or 4 full pages. NOBODY comes to these forums, and the VERY FEW that do - take a glance and leave.

    alosso:
Due to the type of fix/improvements we are doing, engineers specifically asked,

We're just fortunate enough to have a game to come too, really. TruGolf is ??? Well, I don't know. What does TruGolf do for this game beside scheme ways of taking peoples real money.

As for icon referring to "engineers" to FIX the program,,LOL. Do you mean "Programmers" icon because if you did - this program / game wouldn't need so many fixes in the first place which BTW the "engineers" never get right the first - second -or turd time around where as a TEAM of qualified and experienced "Programmers" would.

Ahhhh! I'm just venting. Don't get your panties in a knot. Just throwing out some well deserved criticism. NOT constructive criticism because there is nothing "constructive" the "engineers" are doing,,LMAO! Ahhhhh!

Constructive criticism - TruGolf - Hire people who are EXPERIENCED in On-Line Gaming (period). It is obvious you're riding this game on the seat of you pants. STOP IT! You are wrong in what you are doing to good people. People who have supported you and have lined your finely knitted pants with A LOT of green paper. People who have spent money on your game that they themselves cant afford but they spend their money anyways. Why? Because they like the game. At the very least have the common decency to afford all of us people who have the experience and knowledge to RUN THIS GAME CORRECTLY.

I recently wrote something to a friend regarding the current state of things here and I think it fits in well with the post above so will also say it here.

I liken this game to a house.  It was built a few years ago by someone who had a very clear idea as to what they wanted and hired the right people to do everything.  It wasn't a very big house but it was damn well built.

Then one day the owner decided he's like to add an extension.  Sadly the firm who built the house had moved away so he got Jerry Builder in to do it for him instead.  Sadly, Jerry knew sod all about adding an extension to a house and pretty much nailed a shed to the end wall.  It still worked as a house though, just wasn't as good as it used to be.  The plumbing had been somewhat damaged by some of the work Jerry did.

Then the owner decided to turn the attic into rooms and got a company to build dormer windows into the roof and do all the internal work.  For some reason he got Jerry in to do the job, despite there having been issues with his work last time.  When everything was done the owner discovered Jerry had really screwed up the wiring, flicking a switch could make pretty much anything happen now.

He continued to employ Jerry for a few more jobs though and every time there were issues.  It appears he had no idea where wires and pipes were in the house and regularly cut through them or knocked nails into them.

In the end the poor guy found it was easier to knock the house down and build a new one from scratch.  It actually cost him less than the money he'd given Jerry over the years.

And this is pretty much what WGT needs to do I'm afraid.  The original game was fantastic and at it's core it still is.  The physics are outstanding, as are the graphics.  However, over the years people have come along and added stuff without apparently knowing how it was going to effect something else.

Avatars facing backwards or standing 50 feet in the air?  Seriously?  It appears every time something is added some else, completely unconnected to the addition, gets messed up.

It might not be a popular option with customers or company but I believe they need to close the site down for a few days, get in some really good programmers and completely redo the software.

This is only a lay persons opinion, maybe it isn't as easy as that but I think they need to stop putting band aids on the wounds and do some surgery.

I can't help but think if Andyson were still around, we'd have had a video with subtitles about two days ago, lol.

Couldn't agree more - every big update knocks something else out of kilter - and people get more and more angry - and many don't stick around.

The lack of any testing - or consultation with regular players - is counter-productive - as I could almost guarantee that revenues would go up if customers were better served!

But thanks Icon for the news.

I see you know your building codes & practices very well. Very good analogy.

If you take every step you pointed out, and gave it a psychological value, you would have come to the conclusion, that this game, is the hands down, largest psychological Ponzi scheme ever concocted.

It builds upon itself, in unobstructed partitions, with no cognitive controls. Just as Mainzman explained about his house. There never will be any fixes, as it is NOT broken in the eyes of the owners. It's running just fine.

Real question... Does anyone have access to, or know anyone with access to a camera that takes 10,000 frames per second? Also known as high speed. Mega high speed.

The wisest of you all, will figure this out.

I am only a short timer in here. You lifers hold the keys. You just haven't been given the slight nudge you need to use them. The design will not let you. You all have comradery around the world, you're not going to give up.

You're hooked, caught, landed. Sorry PT, no disrespect, just an opportunity missed, is lost. ;))) Fire away.

No matter how many stupid roll outs they do. I've read about quite a few blunders. It starts a whole new revolution, with triple the contributors.

Look at the "Honest" thread for a simple example of late. One guy, with one question, started a new evolution, revolution, if you will, with one post. Some of you wake up every morning, & log on hoping, NOT to see the name. That's part of the design.

When it happens, a time honored tradition in here, starts rolling like a snowball. The snowball then becomes, a freight train. Pretty funny, unless you're on the receiving end, I must say.

As a short timer, I have mostly sat back quietly, & listened, & learned a few prominent players reactions, to any given event.

Honestly, you crack me up. If you lifers think back on your time in the forums alone, you may find 1/2 the answer. The game itself has now become secondary to you guys, and few girls.

I'll just wait for the slings and arrows now. Have at it. All in fun, eh?

Let me know about the camera please?

    Firstly an excellent analogy indeed.

But did they start constructing a new house, or the bones of a new house (mobile platform) but instead of knocking the original house, Jerry continued to be employed, thus the old house is in shambles whilst the new house has far fewer issues (that I am assuming as you see less complaints about that platform - apart from the lack of continued development).

Personally the mobile platform leaves me dead, playing on a 5inch something phone is not going to happen personally.

The old house will fall down at some stage and until that time, many of us will find workarounds to keep playing the game, whilst others move on.
