So I've been a member here since 2009 but this is my first post. I have to say that I agree with the vast majority of replies here, though I think many of them were a little overwrought; WGT isn't making you pay more if you don't want to, and I do believe that the powers that be are aware that the 'free HD' aspect of the game is their number one selling point.
Having frequented the forums on a regular basis (a few times a week) to see what's new over the last couple years, it always seemed to me that the people who complained most about the 'lack' of courses were a distinct minority (including somebody who made multiple accounts just to lodge that complaint). I personally have never gotten tired of having *only* four AMAZING PROFESSIONAL HIGH QUALITY FULL PLAY golf courses that I'm still trying to master (just this week I got over my fear of Oakmont and have been playing it over and over trying to hit even par--so close!); throw in Congressional and Royal St. Georges this year and even if they add nothing else for the rest of the year I'd be a happy man.
I've bought new clubs but still play starter balls because I haven't figured out how long buying a new set of balls would last, but I'm willing to upgrade my equipment as I deem it necessary to keep enjoying this game. Anyway, my point here is simply that I'm not disappointed that WGT would go down this particular road of adding sub-par quality courses and then asking greens fees; it's that WGT didn't consider that what they have *right now* is truly spectacular and that the majority of people who play and love this game feel the same way. To chase new business in this way is, I believe, a mistake; stick to your strengths, improve the gameplay features, add gorgeous HD courses on your own stated schedule, and I have to believe that this game will flourish.
