Trugolf ( http://www.trugolf.com/index.php  )  was the  developer for the original  Links game and now builds mostly golf simulators . They do have a few other courses (Banff Springs..Dorado Beach ). On the website they list a 3D engine , maybe this is not far off for WGT ? I remember playing here a couple months ago and was given the option in menu to play in 3D , didn't work  the same .

Only playing here for a few months and enjoy it but would be hesitant in spending  cash on greenfees . Maybe a small membership fee ?  Too many other couses here I need to learn and enjoy for free rather than paying for another , just my opinon.  10-1 Pebble will follow Augusta with Tiger or Phil in a collectors edition for consoles. Bet WGT spent a few cents for mapping/developing that bad boy .

I don't believe that WGT has every made any profits.  They make money on equipment and ads but not even close enough to play for the expenses.  If you believe that the revenue stream that they have even comes close then you have no business knowledge.  $250k just to photgraph one course on the system, plus the maintenance that is involved, servers, programs, etc.

I believe that WGT without more revenue sources is less than 18 months away from being gone.  Still in BETA after 3 years and with 4 courses.

So before I add to the general negative consenus on this thread.  I did play the CTTH & front 9 course.

The CTTH was OK, but I don't usually play any CTTH rounds.

The front 9 had a nice hole design, but the graphics were definitely NOT up to WGT standards.

But I can live with that... what I cannot live with is the Green Fee.   100 credits is just ridiculous, and I will not play the course again due to that.

NO GREEN FEES!     NO GREEN FEES!     NO GREEN FEES!     NO GREEN FEES!

Has the full 18 on the new couse been closed?  I was just going to play all 18 and it only asks me for the front 9 now for 100 credits and I can't get the full 18 to come up.

Well, tried the C-T-T-H, it was definitely cartoonish(comparatively speaking). As for paying to play 9 or 18 holes...I don't think so. The simple idea of paying money for balls(especially for the people that use callaways) and then even more credits to play 9 or 18 holes.....only to end up getting the meter spikes(that still happen), or end up hitting a shot only to have it do something it's not even capable of doing(If you've played enough it has happened at least once) and losing at least one of your balls(if not more) is absolutely insane!

This is not even mentioning the fact that you will still be docked "ball life" when you play this...so you pay 100crs for nine holes(etc. etc.) and still have to buy more balls(whether through loss or ball life)....or you play for free, and spend the saved credits on more balls(which if you haven't picked up on it, your gonna have to do no matter what).

So, having said this, I truly think that WGT should stick to the formula that has made them what they are. If people are getting too impatient to wait for more courses, and getting bored with the ones that are here....well then, stop playing for a while...come back when the new courses are here. I would rather see the excellent quality of courses that IS WGT....than to see the reputation tarnished because people can't just have patience.

And to those people.....ya happy now!!!! you got your new course!!!!

Thanks for all the hard work WGT!! Everything else has been wonderful(except for those pesky meter spikes....but I will gladly take them as long as you don't go this route...lol)

I guess we can hope that they sell the technology to someone else to start again, or us addicts are screwed.
