I wasn't aware that compromising a standard of excellence was a good way to grow a business. Cabo was one of the prepackaged courses you got when you bought Links2003. It looks exactly like this. Does that mean the other 200 or so courses I have will be along shortly?

Nice try, WGT. A miserable failure but a nice try anyway.

    PugsAce:

    SgtDoodles:

34 footer drained on #8. The new course would be extremely fun without the FakeGolf images.

    heh-heh! I also had a 34footer on #6 for bird too, Sarge.

Perhaps the course is being "forgiving"... for "giving"?  ;)

Nice putt PugsAce, have you noticed how the putt was dead straight? And it didn't bite out of that fringe? The course is forgiving for giving, lol. I managed a 34. A couple of the holes have a 60-yard difference or so from Master tees to Legend tees!

Great post C. One of the more sensible responses to the latest WGT update. I have to admit before I played the first round, I was very skeptical of the TrueGolf "experiment" I'll call it. However, I was pleasantly surprised. I enjoyed the gameplay, and found it to be very similar to our normal HD courses. Obviously, the graphics aren't nearly as crisp, the greens are a bit vague, etc. But hey, like C said, ITS A NEW FREAKING COURSE :)

My only concern, if it already takes a year to launch 2 full stroke play courses, will it take even longer now that TrueGolf is adding courses? I know that may sound contradictory to the original WGT post, but is WGT dedicating it's own employee time to helping TrueGolf add courses? There has to be a liaison right? I don't want to sound speculative, but basically I'm concerned that even though we might see more TrueGolf courses, it may take even longer for the HD courses. Hopefully I am wrong, and we will still be able to see at minimum 2 new HD courses per year. It we're getting 2 of the HD's and a handful of the TrueGolf courses, that should be more than enough to keep everyone happy(aside from the greens fee)!

hmm..i just played the free ctth on cabo wabo or whatever it's called.....and instantly realised why i opted to join wgt instead of tiger woods online....

graphics are huge let down.....and can't see why anyone with sense would want to pay to play mickey mouse golf.....when there are decent free courses with stunning graphics.

    just sayin'

I'm with you on that TBE...total letdown...what I would call a plastic experience and not why I stay with WGT. I won't be playing it again.

I normally do not post complaints or vent in these forums, however, after playing the CTTH course I have to agree that it is "cartoonish " and no where near the standards of WGT. I agree that it is a NEW course and may relieve the bordom that may exist, but only for a short time. Perhaps the WGT business model is currently having MONEY issues and see this as a way to resolve some of it. However as a member I do not see this as a long term solution. Cutting the quality of the product and then increasing the price (FREE to 100 credits) does not make sense to the consumers ( MEMBERS). Perhaps a better approach would be to continue to develop additional courses with the same quality that WGT is known for and in order to recoup the direct cost of developing, form a "PRIVATE" or "PAY/month" ($5.00) with unlimited play WGT country club. (I know this will not sit well with some members of WGT)The paying members would have access to the new courses for a 3 to 6 months period prior to releasing them to the general members. Setting up tournaments as normal. Additionally on a monthly basis posting updates as to the revenue VS cost (in percentages). By adding this feature the paying members see the progerss of paying for the courses. This gives members the option of playing the new courses at a fixed cast or continuing on the exixting courses. Finally, my experience with WGT has been enjoyable and hope that WGT continues to produce a great product for all of us to enjoy.

Wow...I quit playing here months ago because of meter issues(tho I did come back for an experiment). I just come back now to read the forums for a good laugh and read how things are not progressing to help play...clear cache... download this....it's not WGTs fault...blah,blah blah. Anyhoo, I recall reading many people writing that they would pay a small fee to get new courses, etc. Well, be careful what you wish for because you got it. Will continue to watch from the side-lines until the abused masses have finally convinced WGT to listen to the long list of complaints.

Just read through all 17 pages of comments. That was hard work. It's probably taken longer to do that than the time spent on the graphics for Cabo.
