Take a close look at the scales each putter uses and make sure you're comfortable with them. Factor in the Putter Pal, too, if you use it.

Some say the lower Versa (L70) is better than the higher (L96). What do you think?

I can see where they're coming from, but I think the L96 is a bit better. Not a whole lot, but better.

I used the L70 from level 70 until Level 96, and it's a great putter. The transition to the L96 wasn't as easy as I thought it would be. Putts would stop short where with the L70 they would keep rolling. I had a number of conversations with Alice.

I've had the putter now a little over a month and am getting more comfortable with it. Truth be told it takes at least that long to "break in" a new putter, which is why you can learn very little from a 24 hour rental when it comes to choosing a putter.

Not really the L96+ gives a touch more precision which is what you need as you tier up the higher tiers . Since the breaks become more pronounced the L96+ allows you to play the wider breaks and hold the line better than the L70+ . I`ve had them both and loved them both but now play with the L98+ which I also love .

Since making Champion it also seems that WGT tweaked the greens because the breaks seem to be more pronounced than they were at T/L tier . Another thing with the top 3 versa putters is that you can putt both ways with them which is sometimes needed at the higher tiers . My advice to the O/P get the versa L70+ as it is the best putter at that level . For players who are still coming up the tiers the 4 best putters in the game are :

    #1 L55+ Daytona Rossa

    #2 L70+ Versa

    #3 L96+Versa

    #4L98+ Versa

The L96+&L98 Versa putters are for those who take putting seriously and really want to post goood scores . But you got to put your time in to learn them but once you do they are great .

I had the max putter I preferred the 10 ft meter. Was able to get the lvl 92 Nike and returned it, it missed too many 5 ft and below putts. Moved to the 100 Nike and traded the max in. Made it to champ using the max, it's a real good putter.l tried the versa but didn't like the 15 ft meter.

    LONNIESCOTT711....knows putting!!!

Follow his tips or at least keep them in your mind.

I'd offer my tips but will defer to anyone who plays better than.

Playing better means that person is doing something better.

    Dangeris:

Actually these 3 putters are on the test:

Sooo, mates. Until now I tested the mentioned Versa and the new TM Red Spider. From the feeling until now I would tend to buy the Versa because the mix of the precision and balance together with the meter speed gave me the best feeling on the greens.

For me also the meter scale was very enjoyable, because I have the Taylor Made Daytona Putter and the short scales are more difficult for me, at the moment.

Also I am switching between Miss-The-Ding Putting and Ding-It at the moment, so I need the precision and slow meter.

Maybe I try the Max-Meter today evening, then I would have tested all three :)

Some people would think talking about :feel: with a virtual putter is crazy, but it does make sense.  I tried the Lvl 70 versa, but had the opposite problem from yours...preferred the shorter scales for shorter putts.  That led me to the Nike Lvl 77.

Eventually I found that the Max Control (Master+) worked even better due to the many different scales available with it.  They allow me to keep my swing power below a25 - 30% most of the time.  I agree LonnieScott knows more about the subject than most of us.  Bottom line, being comfortable personally and finding what works for you is everything.

    Good Luck in your search.
