Hi Chad,
Thanks for taking the time to address the concerns of your customers, and in an honest and straight forward way. You have a fantastic product, and have created many ways to enjoy a realistic online golf experience. Some of the ideas work, and some don't, but most successful businesses I have ever been involved with have more failures than successes along the way. Please keep listening, make the changes you are able to, and keep up the good work.
To my fellow players who have expressed so many concerns:
While I personally will not choose to pay to play on a per round basis, it is a personal choice for all of us. If you don't want to pony up a buck for 9 holes, don't do it. It is not as if TruGolf courses are coming at the expense of future HD courses. If this development had not taken place this week, in all likelihood the majority of us would be singing the praises of WGT in the coming weeks as the two new HD courses were introduced. Now that is not good enough?
On the business side of the equation, many of you complain about how much you spend on clubs, balls, entry fees, etc., yet a ball that sells for $3 a sleeve is introduced and we can't buy them fast enough. New clubs come out and we gobble them up in hopes of finding the next improvement in our games. From what I can tell, new members are continuously signing up for the site, and they inevitably end up spending money on equipment and tourneys. It also appears that most of the vocal detractors are still here spending money, despite so many saying with every perceived and real glitch that they are done here. Given all that, and keeping in mind that WGT is indeed organized as a for-profit organization, if you owned and ran WGT why would you do anything much differently? I know I am going to get shot at by those who say they don't listen and they don't get it, but it appears the business continues to expand its customer base and revenue streams. If this were your company you would have to like your prospects for success.
As much as we would all like this to be the perfect virtual golf experience, it will never be that. Yes, the meter issue must be resolved by all means, but other than that one major obstacle this a fantastic game that offers many options for enjoyment for players from the casual to the diehard, with enhancements coming on a regular basis. Some work, some don't, but for those of us who were here a couple of years ago or before, we can appreciate that the WGT of today is light years beyond what is was then. I for one will continue to spend money and support this game because I get way more than my investment back from the competition with myself and all of you.
