come on guys, let's make this game some what realistic. Stop the 50yd rolls off the greens, it's so ridiculous. It's 50' not 50 yds!!! Tell me when was the last time you ever hit a ball and it hit the green and then proceeded to roll 50 yds!!! 50yds!!! I can't say this enough, it's absolute garbage. Please slow the roll, fix it.

Also if your club says 150yds is it's max distance, when you hit the ball off the fairway clean at 75% make the ball travel 75% of 150, not 50%, not 60%, it's 75%, please make this accurate so you can actually judge the distances you are hitting the ball at.

Of course, for years, what I've been asking for is for other clubs to use. I mean, instead of having to use my 150 yard iron at 75%, wouldn't be great to have a club rated for about 110-115 yards? If it's 120, that's fine as well. I'll just take a little off when I hit it.

Boy, that would make the game a lot easier.

    Edit:
But here's some unsolicited advice. If you find it helpful, great! If not, ignore. First, you're in a great CC. If you're not already doing so, ask for some help from the people there. They'll be more than willing to help you out. And they'll give you great advice and help.

Second, if you want to stop the ball on the green, you're going to need to do some upgrades to your irons and wedges.

For irons, you'll need a high trajectory set with some spin. Since you're already at Level 84, you might as well wait until you level up. The Callaways at Level 85 look really good. You should also think about upgrading your wedges. Moreover, you should be carrying 3 wedges (56, 60, and 64 degree).

Finally, after you do some equipment upgrades, consider investing in a bit better ball. The best value ball (IMO) is the Callaway Soft Chrome (Level 33+). If you were to do those upgrades, it would totally transform your game. I guarantee it.

By the way, I cannot think of a single reason why I would ever hit an iron (i.e. 3 though 9) at less than 90%. I really can't think of a situation where I would do that. Between 90% to 100% the irons and wedges are fairly linear. Below that, as you found out, they're not. Nevertheless, I just can't come up with a reason why I would hit at 75% an iron rated at 150 yards. There's no reason.

You're operating under a false assumption that the swing meter is linear. Well, it isn't. A 75% swing DOES NOT get you 75% of the distance. In fact, the swing meter is closer to being inversely proportional more than anything.  :-)

If you want to do this right, learn what your clubs carry and then figure out what happens after they land. Sounds like you're expecting the ball to stop exactly where you computed it should by the numbers. No consideration of club loft, wind influence, green speed, green shape, ball type or spin on that ball. This is a golf game, not connect the dots.

The percentage of your shot is not a linear yardage.  You need to map the different percentages to know for sure how far it will/should go.

thanks guys, appreciate you taking the time to reply. You are right,am in a great CC and they give me great advice, this comment is for the developers of the game. I know my clubs been using them for quite a while now I know how they act, what I can't predict is when the ball flies off the green for 50 additional yds, this is not acceptable, it never happens in real life, so why should it happen in a game? and yah sure I could sit here and spend money on the game to upgrade my clubs, but I'm not going to do that, it's silly, especially when the game is not consistent. I've played with rentals that are a lot higher level than the ones I use now, and used a high level nike ball with them, only to have similar results, no consistency. Bottom line, all I'm asking from the developers is to get rid of the crazy exagerated rolls, I can see maybe sometimes 50', but never 50 yds or even 20yds, c'mon that's ridiculous.

Lately it seems that WGT stands for Whiner's Golf Tour.  At least according to what some of  the noobs are posting.

not a noob and not whining, but thanks, just because I've only posted here 14 times doesn't mean I'm new, dont know why you have to post if you dont have anything positive to say? I was making a point of, in my opinion, a flaw in the game. To have a short iron shot roll 50yds or even 30 yds is ridiculous, doesn't happen except here.

    Ummmm...

Never mind. Even so, I think I need a new one of these:

By the way, the conclusion that you're a "noob" was probably arrived at because the person noticed you started playing in October of last year (according to your profile) and not because of the number of your posts to the discussion forum.
