Bootsie asked us to forfeit a match that wasnt played which i duly did under protest as our player turned up at the pre arranged time and the Electra player didnt show. Bootsie said it didnt matter as we had won anyway but i now find Bootsie has posted later on that the amount you win buy does count in the standings !!!   i feel it is unfair we have had to forfeit a match we were willing to play and by the electra opponent not turning up at the arranged time , he benefits with a win.Could you please give me a ruling Slor...  Many thanks  Darren

Hi bootsie,  we tried getting a late replacement for the final match but were unable to in time so we forfeit the last game

    brindille v KnuckleWoods

    many thanks  Darren

p.s  as a side note, the match was arranged to be played saturday evening between 8 and 9 pm gmt but knucklewoods failed to show !! i too had difficulties getting my match played and ended up playing a 3rd replacement !! i have agreed to the forfeit to close the match but in reality it was the electra opponent who failed to show up at the agreed time and yet it seems like we are the team punished because of it...very strange

Read your first line again and explain the words:  WE TRIED TO GET A LATE REPLACEMENT FOR THE FINAL MATCH AND WERE UNABLE ....now those aren't my words they are yours. Plus your own player states in his message he was unable to play lol. So your point was what again? The match was going to be registered against you as a zero either way so no you are wrong it did not matter in this case.

Boots...respectfully, trying to use a word play on this thread isn't representative of  what happened.  "Late match" in this case was a "Scheduled" match to be played on a Saturday evening.  The player (Knucklewoods) from Bery's Electra was a "no show".  We were told that simply not playing the match would not be counted against us in the standings, but it appears it will be, even if it goes down as a zero.

We would have rather played the match and lost, then not played the match and have it count against us in the standings through no fault of our own.  Our player (Brindille) showed up and theirs didn't, but we didn't want to ask for a ruling because you stated it would not count against us.  As it turns out, this was not entirely accurate.  That was the point DevilDaz was making and why he asked for a ruling.

we tried to arrange a late replacement AFTER knucklewoods failed to show at the arranged time. our replacement was willing to play the match at the earliest possible time which was today monday as he had prearranged things to do on sunday... i found at late on saturday night that knucklewoods failed to show and because my original player was going on holiday on the sunday i tried to replace him as many other teams have had a 24 hr extension to complete their matches but for some reason that doesnt seem to applie to us.  so yes   in my words i did say we tried to replace a player but only after the opponent failed to turn up and also refused to play the match on the monday so i think i am being very fair in asking the questions i am asking.   cheers  DARREN

p.s  the only reason for my post is that were told our match will be recorded as a 3 2 win for us and apparantly the difference between a 3 2 win and a 3 1 win could affect our league placing...im only asking for clarity on the situation and not a free for all of he said she said !!

YBRCC Team Gillikins - I need a captain of ANY OTHER YBRCC CAPTAIN or Club Owner to step forward and forfeit to Elite CC B team. Unfortunately it appears your captain of Gillikins is missing in action and that is fine. We all have lives so no worries that you had a life to take care of but .........

This score greatly impacts the final results because currently Elite CC B team is 4-0  and that  could totally impact the entire outcome of this whole tournament. There is no impact to team Gillikins but I am asking you as a club to do it  because I will always promote clubs standing up and doing the right thing before I am forced into the position of having to.

    hugsssss,

    ~Bootsie ~

It just came to my attention by a post on the CC forum by one of the members.

DDLB has been our captain from the start of the competition and is on holiday, however  he assured us he was able to play since he had access to the internet. For whichever reason this week he didn't come online and I didn't pay attention to what was happening in the slor competition.

I hope it is still in time but of course we will forfeit this match so the score will be 5-0.

My apologies for letting this go unnoticed  and for this week just to be sure I submitted myself as Team Captain so I can be addressed by private/wall messages.

    Ben

    Hi Slor, Bootsie & Brio,

I know you've got a lot on your plate....

but just wanted to clear up one not-fully played match from week 3...

    Upton Manor Gators V BLS....

They won 3-0.....one unplayed match we will take the "blame" for (ie forfeit)...but the other, from our perspective, should be vice-versa, as the player consistently made himself available (inc this eve)....

I'd always assumed that "forfeits" etc - did not count.... and that only games played counted....

It doesn't really matter.... and I would like to compliment the BLS team cap'n (BBB) and their players for conducting themselves in the best spirit of the game.

    Cheers, Ryja

Hi boots, Rule 6 states that any game result not registered will be classed as a half (draw) i know that all games ideally should be played but it would save you guys alot of grief if this rule stood it annoys me to see guys having a go at you when its thier fault for not playing in the first place. If u commit then play simples.

zero from zero is zero .......forfeiting the game simply cleared the competition....your team won that round still. What does matter is if you scored in a round and tied with another team then yes it counts. That is why I said and will say again in your case it did not matter. Your team was NOT on a sweep you had already loss one game. Now in the case of a player not showing up with all due respect there is two of you posting inside this forum trying to defend a game now.........Where were you two when it was time to write a quick note in this forum so we had some type of record to look back at and say they made a point to notify the other team etc?I can only answer based on information you guys give me ....

Now one last thing- clearly I said if you had a problem with time zones etc your club is on auto extension. That wasn't given to one club it was all clubs. Even Slor's post himself that he made today said get those scores in by close of tonight so exactly how do you figure your club is being treated differently?
