Oakmont had its way with me today

  I was playing the April 18 hole unlimited when Oakmont decided to stomp a mud hole in me, lol. I shot a 65 here a few days ago, but I struggled to a 73 today after making three bogeys and a triple on 9. However, on the bright side I did make 3 birds so...yeah, good times ;)

  I once won a very important CC vs CC match play on OCC #9 with a triple! lol

  Oak has it's way with me almost every time I play it on RGs. Just throwing credits away. Tend to avoid it now.

  Same here but I just had to go back tonight and play the 18 hole RG since the wind is only moderate and not heavy like the 9 hole RGs. Had my best round on it, finally.

  Fun course to play for sure. But, like you, I usually just donate when playing it in the RGs.

  PLayed nine on it today and shot 33 with a bogey on 9.

  Hit the green and ended up making a 15 footer for par.

  I usually put a lot of concentration into it. At the end of an 18 I feel like I've been in a battle.

  Exactly. Heavy winds at Oakmont. I'm scatter brained after those rounds trying to hit the damn fairways let alone placing it correctly on the green.

  Remember when we thought Bethpage Black was unfair and too hard? Now comparing it to Oakmont, it seems tame.

  I wonder if Congressional will make us think Oakmont is not so bad afterall?

  just had to share my round at oakmont - shot 64 but missed 5(!) 4 foot putts for bird :( . almost had my way with her but she bit back. dont know whether to laugh or cry.
