JasCooper: I think WGT would sell a lot of clubs if they reduced the requirements for those higher level clubs like they did the Nikes.
I understand what you say, but I am not sure if in the long term they would sell more clubs.
The reason is many players yearn for new clubs, if clubs were at level 92 the probably would skip the upgrade at level 90......(as an example).
Personally, upon hitting legend, it should be open slather to purchase what you want, but again that would kill the business model.
WGT primarily make money on ball sales, not club sales, so forcing players to grind away another 5 levels is part of the plan. Yes as a result some players get despondent and play less or leave, but as the business plan works, I can't see a change forthcoming.
It is like the clashes, as flawed as the system is, whilst players continue to play them, it will not change.
I would love to sit on a WGT marketing planning meeting.....as they all gaze into empty space
