I really like playing this game, but the wind is so unrealistic it is starting to make the game boring. I don't mind a windy day but I hate to inform you people, but the wind does not blow 25+ everyday even at Pebble Beach.  I use to live near there so I know what I am claiming.

Can we just try to be a little more realistic? Moderate wind is 5 to 11mph, not 21 to 25. I can not remember even seeing a tournament with low wind, if it was listed as such the wind was in the high teens.

Wait till you get to the legend tier and have to play that wind from the parking lot.

+1 They also had better be saving up for the club upgrades as they will be needed .Unless you were playing a high wind event you shouldnt be getting those type of winds . Unlike the real courses where the pins are moved for the most part on a daily basis the game uses the winds to alter course play . Mainly headwinds or angled headwinds are the most prevalent as they also make attacking the pin more of a challenge .

I do agree though that the wind doesnt blow all of the time anywhere and the wind settings do need some better adjusting .At the same time also understand that alot of the errant shots can be explained on the wind being the culprit or player error . Events with no wind settings will clearly show the effect of the VEM/deviation and wind . No winds to be blamed would create more friction than WGT would want .

So for now its take it on the chin and play a better round next time .

I have to admit that's a new one: the wind makes the game boring. Not sure how that works. But yes, the wind tends to be unrealistic. And, at times, from what I gather, it creates an equity issue with the tournaments because not everyone has the same wind characteristics.

But it also is unrealistic inasmuch that it's not consistent across all 9 holes. And people know that going in, or they should be aware of that if they've played the game any amount at all. Nevertheless, that means that while the wind could be a detriment on one hole, it could very well be helpful on the next hole.

Personally, I think the wind can make the game more interesting because it presents another variable to consider. Two of my favorite courses still are St. Andrews and RSG. And I shot my best round ever on RSG, with heavy winds.

    In other words, embrace it.

We're all very happy you told us. None of us could have figured that out on our own.

I play at one of the windiest courses in the UK right on the Irish sea. I also play 3 times a week all arranged weeks in advance so the weather is to say the lease variable.

That makes a minimum of 150 games a year for the last 5 years 750 rounds of golf in the windiest part of Britain.

In that time how many times have I played in wind conditions exceeding 25mph well that would be about 20 to 30. So why does currently every competition have these high winds. The last clash made it almost impossible to hit the fairway on the 14 at Chambers Bay with a 25mph headwind.

Why do WGT only think that the higher the wind the more difficult the task. Players have charts graphs and rulers to combat set winds

Now what I have played in on more than anything else is variable winds, anything from 5 to 20mph, when halfway through your swing the wind gusts and creates problems.

Now that would be more realistic winds that vary, such a simple programming task. That would also make it more difficult for players to use rulers and charts for the wind.

Random selection between two points would make things even more realistic.

Low could be 0 to 7

    Medium 5 to 15

    High 12 to 30

    Just a suggestion

There wont be any new distances once you reach the tips thats it . From Legend to Champ tier greens get a little faster and winds get a little higher if Im not mistaken .Since I dont play the high wind set ups cant really say what they do at the higher tiers . But for sure you are through  from being moved back any further on the tees .
