  They have a greater responsibility than you could possibly fathom. You weep for the loss of Oakmont, and you curse WGT. You have that luxury. You have the luxury of not knowing what they know. That Oakmont’s loss, while tragic, probably saved courses. And the moderators’ existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, saves courses.
  
  You don't want the truth because deep down in places you don't talk about at parties, you want them making that decision, you need them deciding the fate of courses. They use words like VEM, meter, and game play. They use these words as the backbone of a life spent defending something. You use them as a punchline.
  
  WGT has neither the time nor the inclination to explain themselves to users who practice and play under the blanket of the very game that they provide, and then questions the manner in which they provide it. WGT would rather you just said thank you, and went on your way, Otherwise, they suggest you pick up a computer and develop a product. Either way, they don't give a damn what you think you are entitled to.

  LMFAO..that^ is one of the funniest posts of the year so far.

  Just played one of our club courses and the 2 Oakmont holes on it are still playable, pity we did not know and could have set the whole 18 up?

    I read they will go away as well . 

  Our CC had a Custom Course with 2 Oakmont holes also.  I had to edit it when I looked at it 2 days ago, as those 2 holes had been removed.  It showed 2 blank spots where they had been and the total for Par on the course had changed.
