Guess it helps to load the game on a PC now and then, thanks!  :-)

I really can't understand why some whine so much about losing Oakmont. And the part I detest the most is that if one says he/she didn't like the course, those whiners jump into the person throwing some disgusting insults like "Oh, you hate it 'cause you suck at the game and don't know how to play on it".

That's a fair point. People can dislike a course and still be able to score fairly well on it. For example, I absolutely hate Kiawah. But it's not because I can't play the course fairly well.

Still, the issues with Kiawah are well documented.

    Hi Robert,

That's exactly my point. Vice versa, I never score well at Chambers Bay, but I adore the course.

Just because someone disagrees or hates something you love, it doesn't give you a right to spit nasty comments on him. It's quite shocking for me to see that a considerable number of losers often do that here on the forum. So inconsiderate...

And what's this all about?! Can anyone elaborate this?

Nothing wrong with Kiawah . It too is just like Oakmont you just have to learn how to play it . Good course management and ball placement are the keys to playing Kiawah and posting good rounds .

It's the greens not the setup. The breaks on the greens (at least on the mobile) can be, at times, indecipherable. Additionally, there are times that there is no good camera angle for viewing a putt to get a decent read.

There's a lot wrong with Kiawah. And the stuff that is wrong with the course is not easily addressed by good course management skills.

That is to say, tee-to-green is fine. No concerns at all. But once on the green, it can be a bit of a crap shoot on getting a good read on a putt. That's well documented and should not be a controversial statement at all.

I can post decent rounds on Kiawah. But I still don't like the (at times) guessing game on the greens. I know that I'm not the only one who has voiced that concern.

As an aside, here's a distribution of my scores on Kiawah from Legend tier. While not fantastic scores, they're decent. So, I agree that a person can post decent scores on the course. But that doesn't mean the course is without problems.

Loved Oak and Kia might be the course I shot my lowest score. I think it was w/ the yellow callies, too...my old favs.

Kiawah was WGT's first attempt at a full course with putting on greens. They didn't get the green mapping quite right and there are a number of places where you just can't believe what is in front of you, read-wise. For the longest time the best advice for that course and putting on it was to "memorize" the spots. The 3rd hole is notorious for this with putts under 6 feet.

You can tell by the succeeding courses that WGT's green mapping has improved but it took them a while. BPB and SA suffer from the same "learning" but aren't quite as obnoxious as Kia is.

Small consolation, even the best mess up #3. In the 2012 PGA Championship at Kiawah at the end of the 3rd (2nd) round, Tiger Woods was facing one of those 4 foot putts on that very hole. He was hole high right.  Darkness was going to force play into the next day but he opted for putting out instead of taking the option to mark his ball. He missed the putt! Probably figured 4 feet was a no brainer. Heh, it ain't and you see that every time you play #3.  :-)
