lonniescott711: Nothing wrong with Kiawah . It too is just like Oakmont you just have to learn how to play it . Good course management and ball placement are the keys to playing Kiawah and posting good rounds .
There's a lot wrong with Kiawah. And the stuff that is wrong with the course is not easily addressed by good course management skills.
That is to say, tee-to-green is fine. No concerns at all. But once on the green, it can be a bit of a crap shoot on getting a good read on a putt. That's well documented and should not be a controversial statement at all.
I can post decent rounds on Kiawah. But I still don't like the (at times) guessing game on the greens. I know that I'm not the only one who has voiced that concern.
As an aside, here's a distribution of my scores on Kiawah from Legend tier. While not fantastic scores, they're decent. So, I agree that a person can post decent scores on the course. But that doesn't mean the course is without problems.
