I want the R15 Driver, But..

  So I'm about to turn level 90 (finally) and I am really wanting to pick up that R15 Driver but I just know they will release something better at that same level within a few months because the R15 will be outdated and they'll change it with whatever new is coming, or with the M2 or M1. This game confuses me a lot with how new equipment comes out and it just takes the place of other equipment that was previously sold but maybe one stat just a tad better than the previous version.

  Yes.

  But, you can't play future equipment - better to make plans with the items available.

  You probably have tried this driver by renting it or when there are free rentals. Go with your gut if you get the feeling that you must have it. I went through similar challenges and finally just went for it with the ping G25 and I love it. I have gone through 4 other drivers and all were fine but as I progressed I needed a few more yards. There will always be a more advanced model down the road, but life is short, how long do you want to wait?

  If you have a club that you like and it performs for you, why not just stick with it?

  I have a max spin 64 wedge that I've had for ages, tried the L91 version of it last week and went straight back to the original because I know exactly what I can do with it, in fact I call it my magic wand, it's got me out of so much trouble over the months.

  now I won't buy a club that I haven't trialled first. IE I bought the Versa putter on others recommendations, hated it, and went back to my ghost

  In all honesty Spence nothing better is coming at that level . When you hit L90 what you see is all you will get at that level . Thats the way its always been so dont waste your time hoping for a change . The R15s were the faster Rlls which were the beast at L90 that everyone had to have once they made the turn . Nothing wrong with your G20 driver and 3 wood . But at the same time if the move is going to benefit you then make it and if not then dont make the move .

  You can either rent it or wait for a free rental and try it . But in the end you will have to play with it  so be sure that you will be happy with it .

  The only reason the new Cally's came was because Nike pulled out. 

  The only new gear I can see coming is replacements for the Nike balls and who knows when that will happen. 

  I remember when I got the R15. Made a big difference in my game. But I will agree with those that said try it out first. Will you be comfortable with it or not. 

  If you do end up buying it there's just the small matter of recalculating your irons. But that doesn't take long.

  Don't. The L88 Big Bertha outdrives it every time. Had both and the R15 was the biggest mistake I ever made when it comes to buying gear.

  I used to outdrive the 287 BB and R1 with it more often than not with L48s, unless they were using L90+ Nikes. They only issues you might have might be would be a quickish meter and not too great forgiveness.

  Sometimes - rarely, ya get lucky. I remember making L tier and thinking my G20 would never do. I was about to buy (something, don't remember what) dilly dallied around. Lo and behold WGT offered the R1 in black to Level 95, which I had just gotten to. 

  Good luck whichever you decide.

  Thanks everyone for their replies! :) I'm still poking it out there with my G20 as of right now but definitely will pull the trigger on the R15 very soon. Thank you all!
