The dot more accuracy isn't worth the in-acurate shots i get due to missing ding, and i feel sacrificing a slower meter is not worth it.

Similar impressions here, but i keep trying. The clubs seem to be more accurate, forgiving and spinny exactly as the dots suggest, so i hope it's only a question of getting used to the faster meter  and not a permanent state due to lack of reflexes (after all it's like g10 with gi-sd before calloways came). Besides, the main reason to keep trying is the 3 iron making kiawah 5, bethpage 8 (the further pin) etc. birdie holes, which can't be achieved with even the most perfect ding with g10.

As to hitting 116 yards with the PW punch shot, isnt it easier to choke the full shot? You get more spin even choking down to 110 yd.

Btw. is it easier to hit the ding with a higher resolution screen - i mean a bigger window - or is it irrelevant?

Your right, having bought them, i just don't feel right going back to G10's, its like downgrading, heck i survived withthe tour balls as you said, its just been too much of a luxury the slower meter Lol, anyway, i'm going to persevere until i get the hand of them, i'm  glad my puttings improved over 12 foot. (its like how 5 foot used to be)

How times change,:) The G10s used to be so dominant now they will surely become redundant in the bags of 90 percent of top players,Will WGT top the TM irons in future upgrades,we saw in this years Open Qualifiers.  even on the first day sub 60 scores,I know its unlimited but many players didnt take long to get used to both the new irons and new course.:).I personally would have been happy to have G10s only as top iron still.Like to know what your thoughts on this,New wgt seems to be Spin Spin Spin Spin.

You're missing out on a killer wedge, the CG100. The spin it generates makes the roll out infinitely manageable and the extra precision and forgiveness makes learning the punch shot well worth the effort. JMO

Don't get me wrong, i use punch shots with all other wedges, just not PW, as it's too hard to control (for me). And i know the killer, as I use  the cleveland 80 yd wedge and could easily replace the ping 105 yd with another cleveland, but wait... then there would be no ping club in my bag.. wouldn't it be too one-sided lol? I find the set with 3 different (50yd tm, 80yd cleveland, 105yd ping) wedges more... fair.

Maybe it was me priestess but I gave them up after 2 days, It was not the meter for me but the clubs range was in between where I needed about 75% of the time. It was easier for me to adjust the ball I was using rather than the new clubs. Compared to the i15's except for the range I could find no advantage on backspin but that is using the callaway's, unsure about wgt or other balls.

Reading all above, I seriously think there's a market/demand 4 2011 Ping & Cleveland Irons. I wrote something about it in another thread (see beneath). If there's many players who support it, maybe WGT will introduce them soon. Please lets here your voices! :)

" Since the last update we have the new TM-irons. Nice, but there's 1 problem 4 me, I don't fancy the meterspeed. I hope it's possible 2 introduce a new Ping Legend Iron set , or Clevelands. It would be gr8 2 have them with the same meterspeed as the G10s and other specs similar 2 the new Tms. Hope u can do this within a month or so WGT. I'll buy them 4 sure."

    Cheers, GC

I would agree.   With all the new club and ball options it's seems the game has become very easy for some.

I'm not sure how much further WGT can go with this, but I guess I can't blame them if this is the way they feel they can make the game profitable.

I'm still using the G10's and the GI2-SD2 Legend ball, I have a feeling these may be the last of the Open's I'll be able to compete in with them.  Trying to accumulate the credits to keep up with the Joneses is becoming too much like work :-)...

There probably will be a new set when Roayl St George come's to play next month, and every one's rushed out to buy the new clubs (myself included) and i bet a new level 85 iron comes out with a slower meter, and all who've bought TM Burners will feel inferior once more, and rush out to buy the new clubs, giving WGT a nice $50 lump sum in a month.  Heck, good marketing technique WGT.  And who's going to notice, or care the fact we've just spent $50 for clubs in less than a month, especially with the new courses we've got to occupy us..LOL

Back to new Srixon balls, Although you loose a fraction with srixon balls distance wise (not much, i assure you) they're a hidden gem, i find working out yardage is more consistant on long irons, and with the new irons, they stop as well as callaways, they last just as long and missing the ding line is not too bad, much more forgiving. Try using these when having a round with friends, and stick to Callaways for tourney's etc etc., but i scored my best score at Congress C C with these balls, and not Callaways

Since writing this above, i've just scored 58 at Congressional Qualifier, so looks like i'm sticking to the new ones (:, even overshot #14, went round the bowl above hole, and rolled back down to within a yard of pin, and overshot #17, but ball rolled back down to within a yard, one of those rounds where everything goes right. (for a change)
