    Sombrpoil:

The unrealistic thing is that 56 is -16 on one round

If i remember well the historical US Open record is -12 on 4 rounds...276 strokes

You have to remember that this is a computer game ... math & good timing rule.

I can't imagine that any real live golfer can't hit exactly 87% of any club to hit a certain distance.

The sooner people quit comparing this to real golf ( with all it's variables) the better.

    PRIESTESS:

Would love to know how many TMs are in the Q Zone,Mio from my club is in at the moment with a 61,

Why are there so few TM's below the cut line..?

It's because of the distance afforded to the legends who are using the legend Callaway balls... that extra distance gives them 1 shorter club for their approach shots and hence they can put a lil extra spin on the ball to get closer birdie putts...

I won't use that as MY excuse for not qualifying YET, but I do believe that equipment has played a role in the US OPEn qualifying thus far...

Legend cally's are over-rated IMO, they're hardly any longer and spin just the same. I play the normal, non-legend i(s)'s because I think they're as long as the others and the long irons hold better. I highly doubt legend cally's give you a 1 club advantage over the rest of the cally range...

Agree Mohuyu. I ain't playing any Callaways at all (instead I use the WGT Tour SD) and still shot a 59. Think it's just that Legends are the most experienced players. It certainly helps 2 have good equipment but most important is the skill of the player.

LOL Bearclaw you think its all because of the legend callaway, lol,,well i dont use the legend one either lol,Come on please the normal Callaway is more than sufficient to do what you want,Tms have R11 drivers and hit LW on most holes at Andys lol  and now you complain because you dont have the legend callaway that goes 7 yards more off the tee,I actually prefer the normal Callay.A player in my club has Q so far with a 60 using Callaway ball and K15s clubs, So come on no more excuses about a ball that gives a tad extra,Get in there and Q,

Ok,Ok,Ok...I wasn't complaining...I just don't see many TM's under the current cut line and I was searching for a reason...I'm not blaming the ball for my inability to Q so far...I've had a few decent front 9's (-6), but I can't seem to follow thru on the back..

I'm curious though...Why do you prefer the regular Callies over the legend ball?

Good Luck Bearclaw,As soon as you crack that back nine you can make it,,I prefer normal Callays because i find them easier to control especially wind against,They have more spin which means higher ball flight and combine that with ultra spin TM irons and you have a ball flight that needs to be hit  fairly accurately Many top players are accurate enough to pl;ay with these. But i find the odd misshit to go AWOL  and also they move a lot in cross winds with bs, So they are better than the normal ball but more difficult to control unless you are very accurate,

I just shot a qualifying score using Srixon balls. The bottom line is you have to putt well as well as hit the ball well from tee to green, the type of ball is not the most important factor. Good luck qualifying, it took me god knows how many attempts.
