what i don't get is that some folks go on about the use of them f*cking cheat programs that can be watched on youtube......if you extend the youtube comment text it gives a link to download the trial or real version....

so why doesn't someone download the damn thing to satisfy their own curiousity???

they either work like they say...or they don't.....I say they don't.

for sure it would end all this cheat cheat cheat shyte.

i'm of the firm belief that wgt have already tried and tested them out in order to combat the auto ding software(s)....i mean it makes sense why wouldn't they???

shot's that come up way short of the pin or way past the pin when hit perfectly (them softwares can't work out the putting).....or even the odd meter stutter thrown in to skew a shot or two.....then you have the winds that seem stronger than they show or winds that don't seem to effect the shot at all as if there was no wind whatsoever.

Yea like a zoooooooomen SOB tonight. I couldn't hit the ding to save my a$$. I'd like to see a cheat system that could catch up to the meter tonight.

    Exactly.

A program to 'automate the mouse' is easy to make. Such programs do not always 'ding' the meter or guarantee good shots. Because, as TBE pointed out, there are too many other factors.

A program that would take all the other factors into account would have a complexity level similar to or greater than the WGT game itself. That kind of program does not exist, IMHO.

My profession is Software Engineering, so, this is a topic in which I have expertise.

I don't post a lot. But, this issue needs to be clearly and correctly addressed in order to end wild speculation and unjustified accusations.

So messing up the meter for the 95+% honest and loyal customers, causing us to lose strokes, balls, and credits, is WGTs solution to combat the small percentage of people using auto click software?

I guess it makes sense and is OK to some people.

I hardly think stutters and stalls are what they're using to do this. Having an inconsistent meter speed is enough.

And inconsistent meter speed is enough to screw with the vast majority of honest players as well.  See Yappy's post above:

I could live with different speeds if they didn't include the stops and starts but just when you start thinking consistent anything those auto clickers come into play. I guess we're stuck with the stutters. If that's the case then maybe more emphasis should be on learning how to be ready for them. I'm not talking about computer setups but about how you play around them. Fast golfers like myself probably get burned more than the careful ones that pay attention every time but the ability to quickly recognize an irregularity in the meter on the way down and let the swing go is worthy of learning.

How many times have you found yourself in a serious groove and get so focused you forget about the meter stalls? The meter's great and you're dinging everything. Then, when you least expect it,  you get one, invariably causing chaos (and forum posts.) Is that the game recognizing you're dinging great and throwing a curve ball at you to make sure you're not a program?

That's what I'm saying. It would be sooo wrong for WGT to screw the honest players because of the minority using cheat software.

How else are you going to protect the integrity of the scores? The operative phrase I used is "when you least expect it" meaning you let your guard down, forgot about it and it got you. Ultimately, you screw yourself by not being vigilant. Whether it's right or wrong is another case.
