Meter will lead to murder

  I was 36 going into challenge 9 at Royal St George, 46 being top of leaderboard, as i pressed mouse, meter skipped way past ding, landing my shot 50 yards (and rough) from hole, ruining best round ever at the course.

  Although it did pi55 me off a great deal, i've since settled down and the friend who logged on to spur my meter to skip is safe for time being LOL

  I actualy had headwind on every shot, so what are the chances of that happeneing again?

  I feel your pain.  That darn meter is so inconsistent, one day it's perfect, the next I lose my precious and expensive Calloway's into the unknown due to lag-skip.

   

  Lately It seems the wind has been lying and ruining many a shot, some rounds more than others.  Overall, I still like the game a lot, and enjoy the challenges and camaraderie, not to mention the satisfaction of scoring and Eagle or dropping a long difficult putt.

   

  Hopefully one day they can keep track of lost balls ( that we pay real $ for ) due to a jacked up meter and send us a care package and thank us for playing.....    hint hint.....

  No Frank, it wasn't you, but was only messing around, easier to vent fustration here than anywhere else lol.  2 Aces in 1 round, headwind on every long iron shot, i couldn't have set up a more perfect ctth contest myself, i'll stay "hidden" next time LOL

  But Royal St george is awsome--St Andrerws mark II, I cant wait for the open, this course seems much more interesting, i know Congress is a beautiful course, but the rollercoaster greens of a linx course is hard to beat.

  I share your pain Chris. Since deleting 230 friends 4 days ago my meter has been excellent, not a single freeze or skip during that time. I have been trying to post a qualifying score in the US Open and keep making an @rse of it. Twice I have been out in 29 and failed in the back 9. Tonight I was -8 after 11 and lo and behold I get a freeze and the ball squirts about 80 yards into the 70/80. The noise I made had the missus running into the room in a panic, she thought I'd had an accident, lol....

  hi to all 

  i have no doubt that the better quality of ball improves ones game no end..Most of us are never going to become legends,, no matter how much we practice or play so we have to buy ,rather than win enough credits to obtain these balls..

  once one becomes proficient enough, to not mis-hit the ball enough to lose it , then it is reasonable to assume that meter skip will be the main factor in losing them.[ especially the skip that stops way  left of the ding line]

  ones game can be ruined as a result of this skipping and one is deflated and  starts to play with more caution, watching for the next skip so its a case of the sum of the parts is worth more than the whole.

  i have a powerful pc 5gig processor 4 gig ram , so i have no probs on that score

  i have to say however that i have  found the WGT support staff are very sympathetic in  the way they handle issues associated with members who have  consistent problems,  not of their own making . 

  try the WGT vapor balls that start at 90 credits as i have found them a very cheap, and great  alternative to the high end sleeves..

  i shot a 29 first 9 at st andrews ustng WGT[ st paddys day green freebie ]  with balls which start at 145 credits, and are the best ive used. ...........cheers to all  jimmy mac

  Don't kid yourself. The only care packages sent are the ones you send to buy more balls.  Have you ever tried to get a lost ball replaced? Don't waste your time. Lost balls is just a small part of the scam that is a major part of this site.

  I agree ...I use the WGT tour GI/sd balls . Only problem is you can only use 1 ball every 2 rounds or so. They die quick :(  You end up paying more for balls because you have to keep getting more the more you play. They need to "up" the longevity of those balls!
