    JimNazium:

Hopefully one day they can keep track of lost balls ( that we pay real $ for ) due to a jacked up meter and send us a care package and thank us for playing.....    hint hint.....

I think you should get 1 restored ball for a lost one.

Like, you have 50% left, you get a meter glitch and lose it out of bounds.  You should get that ball restored back at 50%.  If you lose that same ball again... to bad.  That would be fair.

"Losing" a ball with even 25% left is really just terrible customer service by WGT and nearly just flat out stealing... even if the meter glitch isn't "their fault" per se.

A one time restored "found" ball is totally fair and even realistic to golf.

This can't be difficult to implement.

    Why would WGT do this?

There're trying to make more money, not less

Not saying they would.  I'm saying they should... it would be fair... and good customer service... since glitches do lead to lost balls sometimes.

know what u mean chris  now i am a wee bit nervy as a rule  but 2.1ft, 3/0ft, 1.00ft CTTH comp at hilvershum and then a violent meter skip, 97ft.

.i will say again folks one knows when a very good score is on its way and  when that skip happens it affects more than  that particular game...is the meter skip accidental? try the blue 65 credit balls  folks [ blue ] the are working a treat for me

    Hey all

As a general rule of thumb I have found on online games I have helped on or had to deal with there customer services that a kindly worded and well explained email can have much better effect than say a rant on forums or a rant in an email.

Not that i have had to deal with services here but if you do have genuine meter skip and lose some costly balls then who is to say a nicely worded email which shows humilty and decorum wouldnt get a positive result(A free sleeve of balls).

Im not saying this IS going to happen but dont we all respond better to positive rather than a negative.

just a wee thought from a wee scotsman

    best regards

Get those computers sorted folks. :-)

I do not know why people keep using the excuse of other people computers. Mine has been working fine and dandy and all of sudden once a day the meter jumps. It is not the computers or browsers or cleaning out the cache. I know from first hand experience the cleaning out cache is just a faith that people believe that it actually does something, because it has never or ever made a dang difference to speed or anything to a browser. For years since 1998, I have never cleaned cache and have been fine with browsers with no slow downs even with dialup times.

I think it is just a waste of time to clean cache. So many sites use the excuse to clean cache so they won't fix the issue on their own side. Especially this example: they updated the site on 5/1/2012. The search for a game to play was working even to show nothing, but give you an option to search again. Well, right after that update it never gave that option again, it just kept spinning for hours with no response.

Guess what WGT did? Exactly tell me to clean cache and say it was my computer. So frickin stupid to the point I actually thought it could be. I went as far as fresh install of OS. No change. They would not listen to me or others feedback at all, just make more excuses and say clean cache. Well, after I gave up finally to not post anymore or say anything about it to them via contact message for bug. Guess what happened two weeks later?

It was back to normal after another update they did. Just because they messed up does not mean to make everyone else, especially there so called visitors the blame of the issue. This whole time I was right.

So I don't clean my cache and the browser and game works fine. So I would like to find who ever came up with cache cleaning and fire them or shoot them for the stupid thing in the first place. You can all argue that it makes a difference, but it has never made any difference to me.

Oh, as for losing balls, its another excuse for wgt to make money easier. I believe that they mess the meter on purpose just to get people to get more balls. I am not saying they have someone sitting in a basement and hit a switch when someone is playing and mess them up.

I am saying that they could have a developer that programmed the meter to do at certain times to get people to buy more balls. It is not hard to on purpose make a glitch and keep it for their own expense. Proving it is another thing.

Just saying usually if they are good to their customers and not cheating them, they would probably not have so many negative threads on this forum. If the ball thing does not get better, I might not buy any more expensive balls again.

    Hey there,

Ive now got a picture of trolls and gremlins just w8ting to click the jumpy meter switch and ruin a gr8 front 9 for me by glitching my back 9. On 2nd thoughts tho maybe i shouldnt miss the ding on the wrong side and my 15ft putts would be 5ft putts and my 10ft putts would drop instead of sneaking under the hole.

In my opinion there is no benifit gained by WGT somehow glitching there game to make us buy balls, its all hocus pokus and heebie jeebies

    did i mention abracadabra?

    best regards

I'm not making excuses for WGT...

    HOWEVER...

Software developers blame everyone but themselves including users computers in every single software sector.

Have you ever heard of a company called "Microsoft"?  LOL.

I joined back in July 2009 and then took a long hiatus around feb 2010.  Having come back just 3 weeks ago, I can say unequivocally, the game play has improved tremendously... from one predictable glitch every 18 holes... to one every 72+.  So things ARE improving.

The speed of your computer MATTERS ALOT!  But this is true for any PC gaming.  Even the hardware configuration can matter alot... not all hardware and hardware configurations are equal... some have flaws the affect certain applications etc etc.

Having trouble with frequent glitches (2 or 3 every round) is frustrating... NO DOUBT!

The upside is... if you keep a level head... have patience... you can benefit from many good people in the community here who are willing to help improve sub-optimal computer performance.

It's been said a hundred times before, But most meter problems come from your computer. Smooth frame rates ( smooth meter ) are a must in this game. Anything else running on your computer can and will affect frame rates (giving a jumpy meter) Unless you have a high end computer ANY drag on the ram in your machine will affect the re-fresh rate of your video card, And that is where the smooth ( or lack of ) meter comes from. Try shutting down ALL programs that run in the background. Your anti-virus, malware, pop-up blocker ect. all eat ram.

If you don't know how to check for and shut down all the stuff you don't need running there are many free programs that you can download and have them do it for you. Cnet(.com) is a great place to find free programs. I use io-bit advanced system care and again it's FREE. I haven't had any meter problems in over a year (after finding out about the cause of my meter glitch). I'm not running anything close to a high end computer at 1.6 gh chip and 1 gig of ram and a cheap HP video card.

There is a solution to the meter issue you just have to take the time to sort it out. If anybody needs a little help doing this, just send a friend request and pm me and I will do my best to walk you through it.
