I like the challenge demanded by free balls so much that I thought of the following suggestion: how about balancing the good balls' attributes (those balls sold at the proshop) removing the meter attribute which slows it so much?

Balls sold at the proshop offer spin and distance, as well as slowing down the meter. I think instead, that to preserve the challenge demanded by the lack of attributes of the free balls, the meter attribute should be separated from spin and distance. So for example, if you buy a sleeve of balls with great spin and distance, it should have little (or none at all) meter slowing. In real life, as far as I know, balls don't have an attribute "mirroring" the meter attribute whatsoever.

So if I buy nice spinning balls and distance, my meter should be as fast as with the free balls. Having balls which slow down the meter is still appealing and desiderable sometimes, bu then wouldn't it be much better to have those balls lacking the distance and spin attributes?

You could still have the 800 credits balls available now, but for a somewhat higher price.

What I mean is something like this:

    - NEW good balls
    Distance about 5.0
    Spin about 5.0
    Durability [same as now]
    Meter 0

    - NEW spin balls
    Distance 0
    Spin about 5.0
    Durability [same as now]
    Meter 0

    - OLD Very good balls (the 500-800 credits already available)
cost = twice the above New good balls

If you go through the full ball inventory Im quite sure that you will find for the most part balls which meet your suggestion criteria . So its evident that you had this idea without really taking a good look at the inventory . So sorry to inform you that WGT has already been there and done that which is why its happening now .

Very simply put: add a ball at the proshop with 5.0 spin (maybe 4.0 ?) and 5.0 distance (anyway between 4 and 5) and have it priced at half.. better less than half, the most expensive nike balls.

This way you would have people used to free balls not really "cut out" of the game, thus many will be buying these fast meter but great distance and spin new balls, because they're cheap, since players used to free balls will often give it a go with these new balls 'cause they're acquainted with the fast meter... they (we) know they (we) will loose them as usual as with the free balls, but since they're cheap they (we) will buy them.

All the players partecipating in tourneys (and challenge games) will keep on buying the expensive nike balls as usual but I'm sure many free balls players will give it a try with tourneys as well, because they're fine with the lack of a slow meter and they can have great distance and spin cheaply (or just spin) with these new balls.

And there's also a couple other facets: the expensive nike balls are only available from certain very high levels... so there you got a bargain wgt... make such new balls available at a much lower level and everyone will be buying them and even partecipating in tourneys and challenge games with them. Not only that: since the meter isn't slowed players would be more likely to upgrade their clubs since clubs do also have the meter attribute. And also the meter boost will be more worth buying now and then with such new balls, because it can be frustrating (read as "difficult") now and then with a very fast meter. Correct?

A new ball 300 credits for a sleeve with the following specs (about such):
    • Distance 4.0 to 5.0
    • Spin 4.0 to 5.0
    • Durability (whatever - 2.0 ?)
    • METER 0 (zero)
And a new ball 200 credits for a sleeve as follows (about such):
    • DISTANCE 0 (zero)
    • Spin 4.0 to 5.0
    • Durability (whatever - 2.0 ?)
    • METER 0 (zero)

I'm just suggesting to have the balls inversely correlate distance/spin with meter speed... but not the clubs... the clubs I'm happy how they are. It's the balls which do affect my game a lot and I guess everyone's, making a huge difference.

Basically balls are too much like a jolly card... you don't need to care about how your ball lands when you play with those expensive nike balls, thus better to spread their.. "jollyness" providing new balls.
